We would be winning 9-10 games if Kiffin was still here....

OP is right. I know all the fans who act like scorned bitter ex girlfriends will not agree. We would have got the same slap on the wrist from the NCAA if we had Kiffin. People want to talk about his players leaving. Most left because Dooley was a loser. We would have had Bray at qb , Aaron Douglass at Lt, Bryce Brown at rb with JH an Darick at wr. He would have pulled in top ten classes and gotten our D right. He did more in one year than DD in three.

You realize all that talent you're talking about Kiffin having, he had all of that and more at USC and couldn't get it done against a weaker schedule. Rumors were everywhere about shady recruiting. BB guns and "undisclosed personal reasons" would and did happen with or without Dooley.

Saying a guy is better than Dooley doesn't make me jump for joy.

If I were to lament a coach leaving it would be Doug Dickey, but I wasn't alive and even if I was, it would be a futile exercise.

OP is likely wrong, there is no way of knowing, and it absolutely does not matter.

Who cares what he did at USC...he was the PERFECT FIT for where we were and wanted to go! Again, WE WERE THE MOST TALKED ABOUT 5-7 FOOTBALL TEAM EVER!!

Well he seemed to care what he did there. He put up videos of Reggie Bush and covered the walls with trojan posters. I'm sure that was going to make the boosters happy.

More like banned from NCAA football forever at the rate Lame Kiffy Boy & Ed Ogre (we ain't recruitin' choir boiz) on was going.

I didn't like him even coming. The degree of my displeasure is to vulgar to express. Why?
He didn't like or respect Tennessee or the Volunteer Football team. For criminy's sake - The creep had USC highlight reels playing in the Volunteers trophy room!!!

I'd rather go through what we have than to still have IT & IT'S staff!

OP needs to make like a Kiffen and leave (off bringing IT up).

Yeah, yeah guys, I know he is the biggest slimeball snake to ever set foot on Shields-Watkins Field. He put the knife in all of our backs, and I hate him for that and how he did it..no question! I wish him the worst!

BUT, that slimeball snake brought valuable characteristics to this program such as confidence, swagger and arrogance! Do you guys realize that Tennessee was the most talked about 5-7 team EVER?! In one year, that man had TN football back on the map! Yeah, we went a mediocre 7-6, but look at the results from some of those games. We had to play #12 Virginia Tech in the Peach Bowl which wasn't fair, so he really could have/should have went 8-5. Hell, if Cody doesn't block the FG he could have easily went 9-4! Kiffin is what WE NEEDED at the time...I thought it was the PERFECT hire! Just turned out to blow up in our faces...but who saw that coming?!

So, with all this being said, what are some of your thoughts on Kiffin? Did you like him and feel was the perfect guy for the job when he got hired? Did you like his swagger and Cali arrogance? Do you think if he had stayed we'd be relevant again winning 9 or 10 wins...making New Years Day and BSC bowl games?

I'll admit, It killed me when I found out he was leaving...total dagger. I enjoyed his only year in Knoxville. Yeah, he made some horrible decisions off the field, but that man was just what the Doctor ordered AT THAT TIME!

Yea, he did so well at USC.

If he couldn't produce with USCs talent and recruiting pool, what makes you think he could do better here?

This. He was/is a mediocre coach. He had all the talent in the world (yes he had to deal with the sanctions, but there was still a lot of talent on that team) and played against only a handful of competitive teams a year, but was unable to have success. He wouldn't have had success here with less talent against top 15 teams week in and week out.

No, not at all! Seriously man, what makes you think its a joke? lol Yeah, hes a slimeball and made stupid decisions, but he is what WE NEEDED AT THAT TIME!!

He is the reason we are even on probation and would be even worse if he was here, like scholly loss in particular.

What is soooooo off the wall about this notion?! So tell me, what would be be doing if he were still our coach? Winning 3-4 games? Wouldn't have happened on THAT staff's watch!
You must have missed the part where he had a preseason #1 team and went 6-7.

We would have better talent now, I'll give you that. We'd had one less coaching turnover (meaning no Dooley) and he is a better recruiter than Dooley (what an accomplishment).

There's a reason he don't stay anywhere for long. Luckily we aren't minus 30 scholarships & 5 year postseason ban (other than sucking).

** I'm not saying I want kiffin back at all**

what you said is true, but I'd rather be on probation and win 9-10 games then what we've gone through the last 3-4 years.

Look at Ohio state and missing when they were missing out on bowls. They were still undefeated last year which is better than a losing record or .500

Wasn't he recently fired for losing to much?
