We would be winning 9-10 games if Kiffin was still here....

Tell me he is joking around right! I would take Butch over Kiffin anyday of the week. We do not want somebody like that snake Kiffin representing TN.

Kiffin:
UT 2009/ Tied 2nd SEC East
USC 2010/ Tied 3rd PAC 10
USC 2011/ 1st PAC 12 South
USC 2012/ Tied 2nd PAC 12 South

2009 was UT's best record since 2007 and the best since he left. He also inherited a USC on probation thanks to Carrol's regime. I HATE the way he screwed us, but I wouldn't call him dumb or say he "can't coach". What I laid out can be verified without emotion or what if's, just the facts.

In 2009 he won with Fulmers players. In 2010 and 2011 he had Carrols players and walked into a team with tons of talent. Last year they were one of the most talented teams in the country and they sucked.

He can't coach, that's a fact. He was a loser in the NFL. Also if he was such a good coach, why doesn't he have a job? He is a cheater and a loser. Sorry to burst your bubble but there is a reason the Kiffin to USC hire is one of the worst in CF history.

How did that dream job with all the 4-5* players work out? And you seriously think he would be a winner here today?

I agree with the OP. Ive always thought if we still had kiffin we would be winning around 10 games a season by now. He was the last coach to beat UGA and im pretty sure he won more SEC games in one season then we have in the last 3. No doubt he would have beat UF by now. What he did was wrong and what has happened since then he has deserved but i think we would be winning.

That being said...we will win with Butch when he gets his players here. Butch is better for the program then kiffin was and soon we'll be back on top.

He still lost with 5* talent at SC. Pete did leave a mess but the AA did not levy sanctions until after Lane took the job. He knew it was coming and I think he was so arrogant he believed the AA would go away.

Yeah, yeah guys, I know he is the biggest slimeball snake to ever set foot on Shields-Watkins Field. He put the knife in all of our backs, and I hate him for that and how he did it..no question! I wish him the worst!

BUT, that slimeball snake brought valuable characteristics to this program such as confidence, swagger and arrogance! Do you guys realize that Tennessee was the most talked about 5-7 team EVER?! In one year, that man had TN football back on the map! Yeah, we went a mediocre 7-6, but look at the results from some of those games. We had to play #12 Virginia Tech in the Peach Bowl which wasn't fair, so he really could have/should have went 8-5. Hell, if Cody doesn't block the FG he could have easily went 9-4! Kiffin is what WE NEEDED at the time...I thought it was the PERFECT hire! Just turned out to blow up in our faces...but who saw that coming?!

So, with all this being said, what are some of your thoughts on Kiffin? Did you like him and feel was the perfect guy for the job when he got hired? Did you like his swagger and Cali arrogance? Do you think if he had stayed we'd be relevant again winning 9 or 10 wins...making New Years Day and BSC bowl games?

I'll admit, It killed me when I found out he was leaving...total dagger. I enjoyed his only year in Knoxville. Yeah, he made some horrible decisions off the field, but that man was just what the Doctor ordered AT THAT TIME!
I liked his swagger and so did the players. Opposing coaches in the SEC hated him...because they knew he was going to make serious noise in the SEC. This being said....he would've had us buried in NCAA violations by now. The whole time he was here our compliance department was turning him in...which became annoying. On that topic...it seems the bigs boys (Bama,AU,FL, etc...). Their compliance dept. always seem to look the other way. Ever wonder why?? I'm not saying it's ok...but there is true to the statement "if you're not cheating you're not winning". It's sad...but there is a certain level of truth to it.

Well, since you asked, I'll play. Before we talk about Kiffin, let's step back one more year and talk about Fulmer. What if Hamilton hadn't fired him and Tajh Boyd wore UT Orange. Would Mr. Dave Clawson's offense have found some footing? Would we be now looking at another National Title? Who knows.

As for Mr. Kiffin, I agree with you, I thought that he was the right hire. Had the background, the pedigree and the experience, albeit, questionable experience as a college HC. He could recruit but, and this is really the point, he cheated. I think that Tennessee would have been hammered with sanctions that would have hurt us. I believe that most of the players that he recruited are no longer with our program hence some of the problems that we are having this year with depth. He could coach but I'm not sure that he set the proper moral compass. I hated to see him go but I think that Tennessee won in the long run.

(Vol fans nearly rioted following his abrupt, overnight departure for his "dream job" in L.A., but within two years Kiffin's only recruiting class in Knoxville had effectively evaporated, and the athletic director who'd hired him had been forced out. Kiffin's hastily appointed successor, Derek Dooley, went out last year as the first coach to leave Knoxville with a losing record overall since the early days of the Tennessee Valley Authority.) Prior to that, Al Davis had kicked Kiffin to the curb with extreme prejudice just a few weeks into the 2008 season, calling him "a flat-out liar" less than two years after ignoring his utter lack of NFL experience—Kiffin spent the 2000 season as a 25-year-old "quality control" coach with the Jaguars—to make him the youngest head coach in NFL history. At the time, Kiffin looked like the apple-cheeked victim of a terrible ogre and his football politburo. In retrospect, dumping Kiffin was the sanest thing Al Davis did in the last decade of his life

The above was a copy and paste but it shows kiffin was pretty much a con man, I'm glad he left he is a stain on Tennessee. Wish dooley had done better he was a great guy but not HC material.
I'm all in behind CBJ he has a whole pallet of bricks ordered
and people will soon see it's not a mailbox he's building.

Also, don't forget we were 33 pt underdogs at the Swamp in 2009....nobody gave us chance in hell of covering that spread. We lost 23-13 and played a tough, gritty game! Says something doesn it?

that dumba$$ boy blunder.what a joke of a thread.no true vol fan would start a thread like this.:banghead2::banghead2:

Kiffin couldn't even get 9-10 wins with the best talent in the nation at USC. 9-10 wasn't happening in the SEC with Kiffin.

:dance2:If KIFF had stayed by now, they don't give out DEATH no more we would have about 3 years probation and 20 scholarships took away, that's what we would be facing at the least.:dance2:THANK GOD HE IS GONE

Now Im not a true Vol fan because I came up with an INTERESTING thread that everybody can join in on and voice their opinions? Lighten up bro...

I think I would at least went with Coach O....:hi:

It would have been a lot more believable if you would had said "if Coach O would have stayed".... LK couldn't win at USC, but they seem to be doing fairly well now LK left and Yaw Yaw took over..

He was worse than a slim ball. It is an absolute shame that he is even in the history of UT football. Especially since it was in my lifetime. He is a disgusting piece of crap!!! And it is not because he left for his "dream job". It is because he did so much to hide UT traditions.

You do know he took down pictures and videos of Tennessee and put up Reggie Bush crap in the Tennessee facilities. This disgust me beyond "the pale". He is one of the most overrated pieces of crap in the history of college football.

What do you base this garbage that he would be winning 9 to 10 games a year here?

This is the "douche bags" record:

2007 4-12 Oakland Raiders
2008 1-3 Oakland Raiders FIRED
2009 7-6 Tennessee
2010 8-5 Southern Cal
2011 10-2 Southern Cal
2012 7-6 Southern Cal (started year ranked NO. 1)
2013 3-2 Southern Cal FIRED

Interesting how is was fired twice before the season ended and he quit the other job he had.

Let's look at this great 7-6 season he had here.
1. Don't forget that there were about 6 or 7 players off this team drafted into the NFL. He had some EXPERIENCED talent. Way more than any UT team since. One other thing, if Cutcliffe had stayed Crompton would have been a great QB. Don't give Kiffin all this credit for Crompton. He was talented but the coaching during his career SUCKED!!!

2. 7 wins. Wow Who did they beat? Georgia, South Carolina and I believe 5 nobodies. Vandy, Kentucky, WKU, Ohio, Memphis!!!

3. 6 losses. The highlights of his career at UT were two losses to Alabama and Florida. Since when do losses become your highlights?

4. The other 4 losses. UCLA-I believe they had a losing record. Destroyed by Ole Miss, A mediocre Auburn team at home!!! The Bowl Game. I was there. They were outclassed by Va. Tech.

He is a cheated, low life slime ball that it is so sad that he is in the Tennessee Football History.

FIRED twice and Quit once, he is a joke!!
