Week 14 AP Poll: UT #7

That makes no sense. Georgia is ranked right above us. If they beat Texas they get an automatic bye and Texas will not drop below us in the rankings almost guaranteed.
Texas does not have a win over a ranked team. Another sound loss to Georgia should send them near 10th.

I dont think A&M will stay ranked with another loss either.

If…

We beat Vandy

AND

| USC beats Notre Dame
|
| AND/OR
|
| Maryland beats Penn St
|
| AND/OR
|
| | A&M beats TU AND UGA beats A&M in the
| | SECCG
| |
| | OR
| |
| | UGA blasts TU in the SECCG

…we will host a playoff game. Ranked as high as 5, seeded as high as 6.

This is not true that 5-8 get home playoff games. Not when you have SMU and Miami and Boise St two of which will most likely be conference champs ranked behind us.

Right now as it stands Tennessee will not get to host. The hosting teams would be OSU, PSU, ND and UGA

What UT needs is for Ohio State to lose big in the B10 champ or for Georgia to take a 3rd loss in the SECCG. Then Tennessee will get to host a game.

If OSU wins the B10 and Georgia beats Texas then we are double hosed.

What’s the allotment for tickets?

Now just need to shake that bracket up so the first team we are facing is not GA but some creampuff like Indiana or Penn State
I understand that we are just fans, but if the program thinks Penn State is a cream puff, I’m telling you now Tennessee will get ran out of the building.

5-8 get home playoff games. It’ll be interesting to see if it works out for us cause Neyland would be insane.

I wonder if those who lose the Big10 or SEC championship games will drop because they are likely above us now
They will certainly drop, the question is how far and that likely depends upon the score of the title games. I'd say we need a convincing win at Vandy to rise up to "host playoff game level". That being said, Neyland @ 🌙 in December.... 😱

Yep but 2 of those 3 teams will be conference champs and all three are ranked behind us. So no matter what Tennessee will drop 2 spots in the rankingss just by virtue of those two teams winning and jumping into the top 4.
Miami is already ahead of us in the playoff rankings. If they lose to SMU in the ACCCG, they fall behind us and are replaced by SMU.

Who exactly has mighty Penn State played this year that demonstrates how tough an opponent they would be? I am not saying they are Austin Peay but that would put them higher than a middle of the pack SEC team?

It took a desperate fake punt to beat mighty Minnesota. They are not running UT out of anywhere. They don't have the team speed to compete with UT and they can't run on UT's D-line.

If A&M beats Texas(and we beat Vandy, they will have an identical record at 10-2. Both teams played 7 common SEC teams with the only difference being us at home vs. Bama to their @A&M. Both teams lost to Georgia, them by 15 at home and us by 14 on the road. Their other loss would be @ A&M while ours was @ Arky. Their best win, outside of the teams we both beat, would be @Michigan(likely 6-6) and home vs Colorado St(8-4 or 7-5 G5). Ours would be home vs. Bama and neutral site vs. NC State(6-6 P4 if they can beat UNC). I think it would be a difficult sell to compare the two resumes and rank them higher.

Per 247Sports, Penn State has the more talented roster than Tennessee. I would definitely pick Penn State to win that game, especially in Happy Valley. It goes both ways though, if Penn State doesn’t give Tennessee respect, they could get ran out of the building as well.

Penn State has the better roster than Tennessee with future NFL players all over their roster, and a very good coaching staff. If the TN players and coaches overlook Penn State, they would absolutely get ran out of the building.

Speed...... and no you don't. Penn State has talent just not SEC talent. Iowa is a good example
I’ve watched both teams play all season long. I’m telling you now, if Tennessee has to go to Happy Valley in mid-December, it’s not going to go the way you think. Hopefully we get that matchup because college football fans win when those two blue bloods meet up on campus.

I have watched Penn State. I have confidence in the Vols. Yall have no idea how hard this damn conference is. It is not apples to apples. ALL the Northern Big bias is about to f<ck around and find out.

I don’t care what conference either team plays in. Head to head, neutral site, Penn State is slightly better. I have no clue what your final sentence means lol.
