What I'm saying is that it shouldn't matter what the race is. Get the best coaches in here for the job, recruit, coach, and win. That simple.I'm gonna assume you aren't simply being willfully obtuse and offer that there's a SLIGHT possibility that there are other factors student-athletes (who are obviously good enough at basketball to be recruited here) consider in their choice than just "learning basketball".
This is the real world if you think African American parents are not thinking should I consider my daughter going to TN without a African American female assistant you are living in a fantasy world I’m not saying it would be a deterrent but the conversation is going to be had in the household
Interesting. Wondering if there is gonna be a swapsy.
Idk somehow Lacey got her Arkansas job back…Would not be a smart move for him. The optics of that just would not look good for his program.
Losing the Associate Head Coach to Tennessee and then replacing him with the failed recruiting coordinator who’s job he just took? Yikes.
Sam will find a soft landing I’m sure, but if Purcell wants to be successful that isn’t the direction he should go.
I agree with that as long as you don’t lower standards to do so…. This looks like a really good staff by Kim…..Goldwire was a bad hire by KellieTwo points. First, diversity in any team is critical to success whether you are capable of understanding that concept or not. Different life experiences matter in a team environment. You can regurgitate what you hear to the contrary from talk radio but it doesn't change reality.
Second, I do believe this is a diverse group of coaches. Different backgrounds, races, and genders. Each of us could say it would be better if ______ but I'm proud of the coach for thinking outside the box. Most importantly, I'm extremely happy she doesn't take input from this Board. Whew.
Did we give him a raise?View attachment 634919Feels like “shots fired” to me lol. Guessing Purcell was not happy to lose him.

I’m sure she’ll land on her feet soon. But other side when Kellie was fired, schools didn’t come and raid the staff including Sam. Could say Joy took a career move sideways to start her HC journey upwards.Would not be a smart move for him. The optics of that just would not look good for his program.

Was this the Harper’s home? I might buy it, just for the court/workout room.
Stonybrook is a Div I job. You nab a HC gig as an assistant coach, at worst it’s falling UPWARDS.I’m sure she’ll land on her feet soon. Most likely because they couldn't or wouldn't offer what they were paying them at Tennessee. These assistants were paid between 200 and 300K. Not many schools can or will do that with a women's basketball program. I can almost positively say Joy took a big pay cut taking this new head coaching position.I’m sure she’ll land on her feet soon.
