This staff is better than any we had under Harper imo.

Especially her first staff, that just was not it and really dug a hole for our recruiting. Goldwire was a snake.

What's relatively short? In The Last 5 years neither Mississippi State nor Alabama have finished higher than Tennessee in the league and neither of them have consistently made the NCAA tournament. So that tells me that it's a step down from the coaches we've had in place about the same length of time. We're supposed to be upgrading not downgrading. I can hope that this staff works well together and it's a positive net upgrade, that's the hope. but the new SEC assistant coaches haven't proven any better results or even comparable results than the assistants we have had the Last 5 years in recruiting, retaining players or on court coaching or Tennessee would have finished below at least on of the teams in the SEC at least one of the seasons.

I remember an interview Jack Buck did with Bobby Knight and I was struck by a couple things Knight said.

Jack asked Knight about when Knight interviewed for the Indiana job. Knight said he emphasized two things.
1. They would play by the rules. (Indiana had been known about being loose with the recruiting rules).
2. They would learn to play defense. It does no good to consistently score 90 points if the other team consistently scores 95.

Not to be a broken record responding to a broken tune, but here's a reminder that Louisville lost in the first round this year to the same MTSU team. It's not the unpardonable sin.

MSST just screaming desperation right now. Hired an Associate Head Coach from Eastern Michigan to get a 6’6” recruit who has never played a game lol.

She was recruited to Eastern Michigan but never appeared on their 2023 roster.

Yes we got beaten by MTSU with Rickea out, Jillian out, Ace Strickland out and Tamari still very limited. The Same MTSU that beat Louisville this year with it's full roster and the MTSU team that gave LSU fits in the NCAA tournament. No I don't like 20 and 13 however I'm expecting at least 25 wins next season. I hope they don't disappoint.

Your logic is flawed. You’re equating success with the performance of two assistant coaches and nothing else. You also don’t know their specific roles. Sam didn’t coach so much as she tried to recruit.

Just asking: do you think they'll ever be a time that a mere mention of something Kellie Harper did right doesn't send you into a tailspin of disgust over her very existence? What in the world does saying her teams did better against Alabama than Holly's have to do with the overall record, MTSU, and record against ranked teams? Doesn't that reaction seem a little strong?

No tailspin. Just love to punch back. There is really no reason for her supporters to still be bringing her up and trashing CKC because they’re mad Kellie was fired.

So when they stop brining that trash up in her I’ll stop brining up The Harpers very obvious, factual short comings as coaches.

Excuses, definitely a Kellie Klown.

Remember when ND won a natty with 5 players after losing 3 starters to ACLs? That’s what good coaching and good recruiting looks like.

We were down one quality player and couldn’t put together a good enough game plan to beat Middle. Disgusting. Made me want to literally puke watching that game.

I am glad they are assistants that have experience in the SEC rather than her just bringing her entire staff from Marshall. But it is not like we stole an assistant away from South Carolina or LSU or UCONN.

Why would a "punch" be necessary when in discussing Alabama's progress the last few years someone brings up the historical fact that Harper did better against them than Warlick? How is brnging that up "trashing CKC"? She wasn't even mentioned in this conversation.

Do you really mean to say Kellie should not be brought up? Why do you think CKC needs that level of defending? Maybe you're not so sure about her after all to be on such a hair trigger. Me thinks thou doesn't protest too much.

A Rennia Davis Caitlin Clark like 3 against Alabama in Thompson Boiling who was taking us to the woodshed three years prior to Kellie arriving and Tennessee getting that win showed we were moving back in the right direction. Talking about MTSU is very relevant considering the poster responding to my previous post asked if I was ok with losing to MTSU and obviously there were extenuating circumstances in that game. Don't recall commenting on the ranked team losses. But certainly not in a tailspin. Thanks

Sorry, wasn't responding to your post. Was responding to Vol 09's acid response to your post where you were simply stating Harper did better against Bama than Warlick. Quoted your post for context.

The level of vitriol he "punches" with at the mere mention of Harper, and the uber defensiveness about CKC just seems a little over the top to me.
