I'm not being funny when I say this, but please take heed Vol fans or bandwagon fans...

I have a few recruits that are paying so much attention to all of the SEC bullcrap; that it's unbelievable. You guys should STOP thinking what fans say on these boards doesn't matter. IT DOES MATTER; believe me you!!

I was approached tonight a the Norcross football game regarding our coaching situation. I've defended UT and Dooley specifically so much the past few months. I luv Dooley; unconditionally.... I will respect Jones as long as his goals stay in line with integrity of school academics and players long-term desires.

First; nobody will ever hear me say anything negative regarding UT.

Second; if anybody thinks for a moment that a big name school won't get a good hire no matter the circumstances is also nuts.

third;Fans control much much much more than you could ever imagine. Decisions are based on relationships. whether its with coach, team members, staff; parental guidance; and how receptive fans are to the player.

I have a friend that reads these threads on a daily basis to see what going to be said about her son right now. I know player that has been offered that his ENTIRE family reads these threads on every freakin' board he's been offered. It becomes an obsession to a point. Hell, that's how I got stuck on the boards. I wanted to know what you thought about my son and if the school really needed him. I was so drawn to UT fans base, but now that i'm on the field, I stay away because the same thing that drew me on the boards pushed me off. CRAZY ass fans. lol:loco:

Perception is reality. That's something that a lot of people don't believe, or don't choose to believe. But it is absolute fact.

For what it is worth, I hope Jason has crazy success with his new coach. He was the first player I thought of when all this started happening, I guess because of the posts you've made here. I honestly wish the very best for him.

This is the best post on this board in months. Glad to have MZTERRY on board and Jason on the hill. Hopefully, the fans will get behind Coach Jones and UT will win some games. Win or lose I love the Vols and will always support the university.

I believe Jason will thrive in coach Jones offense. Cincy had a player, Travis Kelce #18, that they used in a TE/WR position that was huge for their offense. Our #18 could kill it.

I'm not happy about the way things played out for Jason's first season, but its definitely going to work in his favor next season.

I'm excited just thinking about it!

Hey MzTerry...I sooooo wish people would truly understand all you said. But we all know they wont. I've been one of the few Dooley defenders on here through the end and frankly still doing so. IMO the guy got a raw deal. It's interesting to see that people have so much hate towards him that I went through 3 or so pages of this thread and barely a mention or credit given to Dooley for all you said in your OP. Sad.

I really do hope the CBJ is successful. But of course I'm going to take it day by day ATP. I hope he continues the foundation building that Dooley started and makes it better instead of going backwards. People on here only care about the bottomline w/l and don't understand there is so much more to it. Especially things that need to be in place first before the wins can come.

Anyway...I know you are post mainly in the recruiting forum so thanks for doing it on this side. I really need to go through and find your post to see what your thoughts were of Dooley's firing. I would love to know your take on it all. Especially on all the fools that fell for the Gruden talk and IMO brought down the season. The ones that were hoping for losses just to have Gruden. Smh.

Hope the Croomster is healing up well.:hi: thanks again. :good!:

When I think about the many positives for this team going forward, Croomster is up there on the list. Maybe this puts me in a small minority, but I am grateful for all that Dooley did to rebuild our program, for the many good players he recruited. Jones is very decent guy and a football in britches, so I think everything will be all right.

Speaking as a parent. I've read on a few different boards that a few of the coaches that were interviewed had issues with our academic structures. That really bothered me and here's why.

During my son's recruitment process, I had a spreadsheet of questions for all 25+ schools that offered him, and in that list of questions I had few specifically regarding academics. I asked every coach who i let into my living room:

1. At what gpa do you NO longer allow your players to hit the field?

2. Who is the person(s) that support the players while they're on the road?

3. Will the parents have access to the academic support team?

4 I found University of Tennessee to honor EVERY FREAKIN' THING they told me during recruitment to be 1000% TRUTH!

Academic probation is 2.0 ( You're not playing)

Note takers and tutors available(TRUTH)
Structured needs to EACH individual player (TRUTH)

Parent access to academic advisors (TRUTH)

Vol For Life Program (PHENOMAL TRUTH) Y'all really don't know the half of what that really means to the families AND our sons. Everything should not be shared publicly, but this is the best thing DOOLEY ever put in place.

I could share a million things that I wasn't told during recruitment, but NOT ONE THING negatively. I was blown away by the structure behind those players once he got on campus. I was absolutely stunned, thrilled, estatic; and definitely reassured that sending my son to the University of Tennessee was more than the right decision for our family and his well-being.

I had coaches that I put out of my house because they told me well "Mrs. Terry, student isn't failing until they hit a 1.9gpa". My mouth dropped, my husband head dropped, my son shook his head, and his Godmother asked the coach to repeat himself.

So I said all that to say this; If Dave Hart interviewed coaches that didn't like University of Tennessee's structure of our academics, then AMEN! What that tells me as a parent, that those coaches didn't give rats ass about these kids who are in college to earn a degree and an education by way of FOOTBALL. My son isn't in college to play football. He's playing football to earn the scholarship money they'll give him for his education. It's only a means to an end, and the end is his degree. Scholarships offers are partnerships. The university athletics is a BUSINESS first, and my son's education is MY BUSINESS. When we signed those papers February 1, 2012, it was business partnership we agreed to for four years annual renewal contract.... and it said Croom, you keep your grades up and perform at this level playing football and we'll give you "X" amount of dollars, room and board, and meal plan. Hell if nothing else... feeding him alone was good for me. lol

But seriously, it reaffirms that Dave Hart and the Unversity of Tennessee is insistant on maintaining the intergrity of the university, and I commend and appreciate that. I would NOT want to have my son in an environment where the people don't give a damn about him as a person and think of him as a commodity.

Welcome to the Univeristy of Tennessee Butch Jones. Looks like you ended up with my baby anyway... :0)

Great post MZTERRY. How is THE CROOMSTERS rehab going. I think he will become an outstanding TE and can hardly wait fro next fall. By the way, I watched NORCROSS's win last night on the internet. They still have some magic going with their program. For what it is worth, Ralph David Abernathy IV player for my son at Westminster In Atlanta and RDAIV told my son that Coach Jones is an outstanding coach and had helped him in academics and maturing as well as his football skills Our football program is on it way back to the top.

YOU SEE WE'RE GOING TO THE DOME!!!

Yes, Ma'am! I hear Lovejoy is pretty tough, but if Norcross brings it like last night, I'm thinking we're hard to beat. P.S. if you see Bobo or those boys from Bama down there on the sidelines next week, could you "accidentally" lock them in a supply closet somewhere :):whistling: With Jones' style of offense, I'm hoping a few of those Blue Devils will take a long look at UT.

MZTERRY...It's great to see you back on here again.

I always look forward to your posts because I think you tell it like it really is and won't lie to anyone.

I hope the CROOMSTER is doing great and I can't wait to see him on the field next season.

Please come on here more and spread alot more of the truth around here because our real fans need it as do recruits and their parents that come here.

I think our new HC will be a good one and I love that he gave CDD alot of credit for the good things he did here like the VFL program which CBJ says will stay and only get better.

VFL...GBO!!!
