I'd rather have a full arena full of both die-hard and bandwagon fans. The fact remains that Tennessee basketball doesn't have enough faithful "14 year season ticket holder" fans to fill up TBA through a down year or two. We must win to pack the house and in turn make the money for the program. You know that. Surely you're not suggesting we have a mediocre year just to see who the "real" fans are, are you?
Once you get the "I Luv Controlled Kaos!!!"/"Brooce Iz Awsum" crowd out of the building, the vast majority of the people left will be those who understand the game well enough to know better.
Dude chill. Those types of fans make the Tommy a fun place to watch the games. The place would be worse than the early 90's if everyone sat next to each other breaking down the zone defense being displayed at the time instead of having a great time. I find myself somewhere in the middle of that crowd (though I never preferred the controlled kaos) and am fine with it.
Let it go.
Not at all. I'm talking about the people who think UT started playing basketball in the Fall of 2005. They'll all be gone now and I won't miss them one damn bit. In fact, I hope they vacate the state and move to Northwest Florida with Forbes to wait for Pearl's return.
I started at UT in the Fall of 05. I got a job in Atlanta on March 21 of 2011. I didn't watch UT basketball until I got on campus. I stopped watching quite a bit this last year (couldn't stand a player on the team, probably won't next year either). I get some satisfaction out of knowing I satisfy all Pearlophile requirements.
Why can't people just be more forgiving? All he did was intentionally and flagrantly break an NCAA rule he'd been cited for violating before, lied about it, attempted to get others to lie about it, then broke another rule after giving a weepy apology. It's a cruel world we live in these days.Oh, so I guess you've never made one little mistake?
The Pearlophiles and The Go To The Game To Be Seen Crowd will be long gone. The frontrunners will be nowhere to be found. The crowds will now consist of people who actually care about and support the program, not some clown in body paint. It'll be a welcome change.

Not at all what I'm saying. I, unlike the Pearl As Messiah crowd, believe in Tennessee basketball. The idiot fringe and trash worshippers I'm talking about will ultimately be replaced by people who actually care about the program. That will happen far quicker than most anticipate. I'm just saying I'm glad the phonies, the clueless, and the Cult Of Pearl won't be around anymore.A full arena is a bad thing. You realize this is what you're saying?
