I guess he has a problem with something he is doing or not doing. It is a shame he can not get his act together.. He has talent, but , apparently, can not take advantage of his physical skills because of his attitude.

Stupidity must be rewarded... We got our first taste of JB in that encounter with the UT Police. (AND CORNBREAD) Nothing changes.

I’m torn on this news. Hate to see a former vol get released and hope he finds a home because he’s a good athlete. But I also enjoy seeing a certain wannabe scout who said he was a first round talent being wrong

Not surprised. He has the athleticism to probably make it. But lacks the discipline. I won’t be surprised if we see him get in trouble with the law at some point. He’s a loose cannon

I understand some of the animosity towards Banks, but we should all want our guys to excel at the next level. It means they’re doing a good job on and off the field, and it gives us another recruiting tool showing that our coaches can put guys in the League.

Rumor has it that a McDonalds in Columbia has Banks in mind for their assistant management training school.

Before you even get into the attitude problems, the guy never played here like a guy with those combine measurables. He ran a 4.53 40. Did he ever look like he played that fast? He's also undersized.

TBH, he simply never had the speed to make it as a NFL linebacker. Offenses would have eaten him alive in pass coverage.

Having said that, I only wish him the best going forward.

Plenty of NFL players have some level of aggression issues so it must be other things. He should make an XFL or USFL team. Several of their players got invited to NFL camps this season so he still has a chance.

I believe they have several evaluation and acclimation mini camps before the actual training camp starts. It was either a culture fit, or they just felt the LB room was too full. Rush to judgement very early we do.
This.

They signed him as insurance to fill out the LB room if Devin White, who had requested a trade, held out. D. White is reporting, so they're letting J. Banks go with plenty of time to get a shot with another team.

I'll be surprised if another team doesn't bring him to camp.

I am a Tennessee fan, but I would’ve bet money that the young man would not last anywhere. Regardless of money, regardless of opportunity.

He was an undrafted rookie free agent. I'm not sure why it's such a shock to Y'all He was cut...regardless of when it happened. It's amazing that as athletically gifted as He is, y'all won't let Him outrun His past.
Seems like after the very public arrest, he at least tried to change or be a better human. I know he gets a lot of blame for the USC game, but I dont think we even know all the details so I dont put it all on him. I know he played to the whistle or a few seconds after every single snap...and I respect that
