We're Tennessee. Not Alabama. Not USC. Stop hiring these chumps.

Just read some goofy internet article saying we were going after Dabo Swinney who was born in Birmingham and played for the Tide. They said that he would be interested in being our head coach but only 'cause he knows Saban is going to be coaching the Tide for 5 or so more years and then Kirby Smart is being groomed to take over there.

Screw that.

Did anybody out there even go to the University of Tennessee? Do we have any alumni who ever played at the University of Tennessee who might think coaching the VOLS would be his dream job?

Is there an Athletic Director out there who didn't go to Alabama?

As a born and raised resident of the great state of Tennessee I don't want any BAMMER LOVER running my State's football team. Any of 'em. I don't want some chump coming here using the University of my State as a stepping stone to get to his "dream job."

Lane Kiffin screwed us 'cause his "dream job" came open. Tired of that mess.

So if there's anybody out there listening to this one lone fan then my 2 cents is GET THOSE BAMMERS OUT OF MY STATE and don't hire anybody until he wants to be at the University of Tennessee and he wants to STAY THERE!

In 5-10 years, we'll have just the man you're looking for. His name is Peyton Manning.

It doesn't matter even a little bit where our coach comes from or went to school. We just need to hire great coaches instead of putting our program in the hands of people like Derek Dooley.

Just glad Gruden will not be here to screw things up even more. Mediocre coach who is a celebrity more than a coach. Would be like having Kiffin all over again.. a lot of talk and no action.. then gone to take his dream job.

UT dodged a big bullet but not really.. Hart had no desire for Gruden cause he knows it would have been a terrible hire.

P.S. I accept the apologies of all all the grudentards who bashed me when I told you he sucked and he wasnt coming despite all your inside info.

I've already said this once, hire Tee Martin as HC and let him grab Al Wilson as his DC.

I don't think he would have any problems recruiting because he's still young enough to relate to a lot of the players. I know that he's @ USC but I still believe he is a VFL. I don't recall DD offering him any kind of position.

Keep Chaney as OC, Pittman Ol and Jay Graham as rb coach and that feels out most of the coaching needs.

AS Forrest Gump once said " That's all I got to say about that".

Yeah, let's hire a WR coach to be our HC just because he played at UT. Sounds like a great plan

Not really. The Fulmer coaching tree is pretty pathetic.

God our fanbase is stupid. What top 25 schools are coached by alumni of that school? Gundy might be the only one I know. No one hires alumns to be their coach. They hire qualified coaches.

Yay, this conspiracy theory all over again! These guys are hired and paid to do a job to the best of their capabilities. You have some big issues (and raise a lot of questions about your own loyalty to your job) that you should probably see a doctor/shrink about.

And by the way, we had a Tennessee alum who loved the university more than anyone on here, and what did we do to him? Oh yeah...

By and large, true. However, I am not so sure Swinney is the answer.

The head football coaches starting with J.A. Pierce way back when. Out of the 22, only five have played for Tennessee. Not saying that they are not out there now, however, not realistic to get a Tennessee player to coach at this level, at this time!

Agreed, unless it was going to be Chavis or Cut. I'd like to see more Alum in the coordinator spots. Jay has been great.

In maybe 10 years we'll see more UT Alums in coaching throughtout the NCAA.

By Alums I mean UT grads and former UT coaches/coordinators/GA's.
