We're Tennessee. Not Alabama. Not USC. Stop hiring these chumps.

Peyton couldn't be a coach? Hell, he's pretty much already an offensive coordinator.

Doesn't meant he can teach. Many players don't transition to coaching for this reason. Understanding and teaching are two different beasts.

Just read some goofy internet article saying we were going after Dabo Swinney who was born in Birmingham and played for the Tide. They said that he would be interested in being our head coach but only 'cause he knows Saban is going to be coaching the Tide for 5 or so more years and then Kirby Smart is being groomed to take over there.

Screw that.

Did anybody out there even go to the University of Tennessee? Do we have any alumni who ever played at the University of Tennessee who might think coaching the VOLS would be his dream job?

Is there an Athletic Director out there who didn't go to Alabama?

As a born and raised resident of the great state of Tennessee I don't want any BAMMER LOVER running my State's football team. Any of 'em. I don't want some chump coming here using the University of my State as a stepping stone to get to his "dream job."

Lane Kiffin screwed us 'cause his "dream job" came open. Tired of that mess.

So if there's anybody out there listening to this one lone fan then my 2 cents is GET THOSE BAMMERS OUT OF MY STATE and don't hire anybody until he wants to be at the University of Tennessee and he wants to STAY THERE!

AMEN BROTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was TN born and TN bread...and when I die I will be TN dead....

Ha, nobody's saying Peyton could NEVER be a coach, but his first foray into coaching isn't going to be the head coach at a historic program. Position coach, then coordinator, then HC. I highly doubt any former player for any team has EVER gone straight into college head coaching at a D1 school.

:wavey::wavey: All these people who want just wants a coach no matter where he is from are not really tennessean...Im Tennessean before a Vol fan and seeing that we have a college useing the state name as their promotion to the success and domination of sports in the state of Tennessee I would like to have as 1st choice a UT alumni if possible...

Funny how that argument works for you now but didn't for CPF. He was the guy that wanted to be here....laid roots and we booted him for a couple bad seasons.

There is no one else. Name one UT alumni that is a legitimate candidate even for a coordinator position much less head coach. People act like we have a rich history of homegrown coaching legends in this state. we don't this state has basically produced 2 in the modern football era. Fulmer and Spurrier thats it.

Why are so many of our fans so deluded? I wish we had it like that but we don't, we have to hire from outside. Bringing up guys that have never even coached yet or expressed an interest in coaching or guys that have coached but just barely.

Some guy brought up Tee Martin as HC but Dooley was unqualified? Stop smoking that s--- you are smoking.

Then we should only recruit players from the state of Tennessee as well. All those crazy outsiders have no business wearin' errrrange.
