West Virginia to Big 12

you're also a pretty strong kansas fan, so - no offense - but you'd probably also say hell is a more preferable place than Columbia, MO...

Fair enough; instead of using "better", I will say:

They have more overall football wins than Mizzou.
They have more football conference championships than Mizzou.
Mizzou's last football conference championship was 1969; WVU's last football conference championship was 2010.
WVU takes in more football revenue than Mizzou.

Basketball:
WVU has 25 tourney appearances; Mizzou has 25.
WVU has 5 more conference championships than Mizzou.
WVU has 2 Final Four appearances (the last one in 2010); Mizzou has 0.

According to wins, championships, and tournament progression, WVU has the better football and basketball programs. And, yes, I would rather go to hell than Mizzou.

WVU has more football success (current and historically, in terms of wins and championships); more football revenue; and a better basketball program (without ever having to vacate any conference championships, either).

And yet Missouri is still the more attractive choice.

WVU plays in the Big East.

They were also independent for 22 years...and, they still have more conference championships than Mizzou. I am not saying that WVU football is great but it is certainly better than Mizzou.

What conference are those championships from?

The Southern and the Big East. Either way, Mizzou has watched KSU rise from the absolute trash heap of college football to win a conference championship in the 42 years that it has been since Mizzou last won one. The only two teams in the old Big 8 that have had a longer conference championship drought than Mizzou are KU and Iowa State. That is some terrible company.

Stupid.

Travel for Non Revenue sports will be verrrrry expensive. Im not sure I like teams playing outside their region.

I dont like A&M to the SEC, I dont like this, and Im not sure I will like how this whole mess ends up with the Big Ten and whoever they take in this whole realignment deal.

I just dont like it. Traditionalist<----me

Florida will somehow continue its tradition of a mid-November game vs Vandy in Nashville being the coldest weather they ever see.
Smart scheduling.

That is not correct. UConn won the BE last season.

In fact, WVU has been beat out for the BE title by such powerhouses as UConn, Louisville and Cincinatti in the past 5 season.

Dominating ya heard.

You are incorrect. The Big East recognizes co-champions (as did the BigTen) and makes a distinction between "champion" and BCS Representative.

WVU and UConn won the Big East last season; UConn represented the Big East in the BCS. Both WVU and UConn have the hardware.

Sort of like Ole Miss's SEC West Co-Champions banner?

Mizzou did win the Big 12 North in 2007, 2008, and 2010. I think that's worth noting in this discussion since the Big East has no championship game (or any teams on the level of Oklahoma and Texas).

A conference champion is a conference champion. Unless you want to take away 4 of UTs SEC Championships, you have to accept WVUs Big East titles.

If you want to argue that Mizzou has been just as successful because they have won the Big XII North, feel free to do so. Just note that they did so against competition that is arguably worse than Big East competition (toothless NU, CU, and KSU squads, KU, and Iowa State).

The above argument could lead one to believe the WVU and Mizzou football programs are evenly matched; however, the same line of argument will separate WVUs basketball program even further from Mizzous all bark no bite program.
