I’m actually not shocked by this.. from her comments about the coach, to her mom opinions, and being that her boyfriend is graduating, I’m totally not shocked.. i wish she wudve given Harper a chance, but i wish her the best

I think the way she play ball, pushing an opponent away with the other hand gettin technical foul most time, refused to correct it, always have attitude, it's better she go. This coach needs to hit junior college and pick up a guard.

Nearly every player does that until they get whistled for it. You think Arike creates separation purely off her dribbling?

She wanted to win and wasn't afraid to try to make plays in a crappy offensive set, much like Simmons and DeShields before her. I think she'll be fine wherever she ends up. Hopefully there's a grad transfer out there who can help fill the gap from Evina's departure.

Yeah I’ve heard the company line. Logically, I’m not sure why she would continue to participate in team activities and practice if she wasn’t open to the possibility of returning though.

So far Homerun Harper has hired her husband (who does NOT report to her btw) and failed to keep the team’s best player. But gosh she sure looks like Pat...
We are better off with her playing somewhere else and she will now be doing that . Holly turned out not to be the right coach for us and one of the resaons she failed was her inability to correctly judge the character of some of her recruits. I guess you don't approve of the co-head coaches we have in Softball . Her husbans has been an assistant coach everywhere she has coached and they have been successful enough for her to get to the sweent sixteen with Missouri State with far less talent than we have at Tennessee. Neither you or anyone else know if Harper will get us back to the final four, but we are assured that Holly did not and will not. Give Fulmer a little credit and wait and see how this hire works out.

Arike is a pushin’ mofo! I thought she did it to the extreme in the championship game.

And I loved every minute of it! Winners make winning plays (however it is ironic she missed a free throw to tie the game the following year 🤔)

I know... that was crazy! Missed the one she needed to hit and hit the one she needed to miss! What a game that was!

Ok, now we move on. No bashing, no bad mouthing her just wish her well and move on to the next objective that will
restore the Lady Vols program to where it's suppose to be.

Good luck with that. Hiring a low level mid major coach based off the fact she has Pat Summitt's eyes and mannerisms is a complete joke...SMDH

I don't see this as some sort of a negative character flaw. It's just like setting moving screens, grabbing on defense, bumping. You do it to see whether or not the refs call it, then stop doing it once they bust you. If they're not intentionally trying to hurt players, I see it as smart play. When they do stuff that is dangerous, like some of the undercutting or post "defense" that some teams were doing on Teaira/Kalani...different story. Besides, Michael Jordan is the greatest player of all time, and that forearm shove of his is legendary.

I will say that in Evina's case, a lot of times it was done out of desperation trying to make a play with time dwindling on the shot clock. Again, more the fault of the system she was in than her own basketball decision making (she's not the only one this has repeatedly happened to in the past, oh, 7 years). Hopefully if it continues with other Lady Vol players, it will be done in a more measured, strategic fashion.
