That is interesting, If you are sure about the confidentiality, then please report this thread. It should be taken down immediately in that case.

My quick google search did not find a confidentiality clause but here are some basic rules of the portal:

There are a couple of things to keep in mind when a player enters their name into the transfer portal.
1. They're not required to transfer. (Emphasis added)
2. Their current school can pull their scholarship starting the upcoming semester and they are not guaranteed a roster spot.
3. If they are a non-graduate transfer they are still required to sit out a season unless a waiver is granted.

So, again to the OP, merely putting one's name in the transfer portal does not indicate that the player is definitely gone.

Hypothetically, if the UT made some amazing, surprise hire -- like Kim Mulkey- I am pretty sure Evina would stay.

Yes. You're right. Fulmer was interested in Walz, after a couple proven women, but some of the older women he is consulting axed Walz. Limiting to women and a Pat tree isn't going to secure the best available coach. There are great women and men proven coaches out there who would come for the right money. None of them played for Pat Summitt though. Maybe Harper will become a great coach. I hope so. But she is not presently at the top of the game like Dawn, Kim, Jeff, Vic, Kelly Graves, and some others are.

I hope and pray that Evina is just getting into the portal merely to be proactive and have the process out of the way and in plenty of time in the unlikely event that someone is hired that she knows she deeply dislikes.

Westbrook is no dummy. She’s wise to be prepared for all possibilities.

I reeeeaaaally want her to stay, along with all of the rest of her teammates. I’m anxious to see the next chapter in the Lady Vol careers! ❤️

Also, I doubt Fulmer gives a damn what any booster says or thinks. This hire is on him and he is only getting the input of those close to him and on the search committee.

The pool does not have those limitations. Not even close.

I don't know what's happening but there is a lot of truth in this post as far as Pat, TN and history. Try talking to young adults very few know much history about most things. You can list names of players from 15 - 20 yrs ago and you get -WHO???? It might hurt us fans of the program but it's been awhile since Par died. The program is not viewed as it once was. CT , Stanford etc are cause the coaches are still there winning. I don't remember many TN recruits in recent years saying I'm going to win cause that's what TN represents or I'm going to TN because they produce great players for the next level. Yet you hear that from recruits from those schools mentioned. The allure is gone it is what it is. There are still a lot of plusses for a recruit to choose UT BUT this isn't the past, top recruits go to multiple schools not just CT, TN, Stanford as in years prior. So what do you need- A WINNER a PROVEN DIV I coach, one who's had great success and is a great recruiter (that's not 90% of the names I've read). They might be good coaches but not game changing coaches as far as recruits will be concerned. Anything less than a huge get will be a swing and a miss. No mid major , no KJH ( fans might love her but recruits probably have very little clue who she is and won't make the effort or want to research her) ..so what top player after the Holly debacle is going to go to UT with a coach they don't know from Adam and is more or less unproven. Again it kills me to see the decline but if TN wants to do this right you need a Walz, Schaffer , Staley etc...those are just examples of the types of coaches

Good. Notice I did not say the pool had those limitations Brian, nor did I say I thought it had those limitations. I know it does not. If the pool could only be women who played for Pat it would eliminate all proven final four coaches. I hope Phil can land one of those.

If tbe former, on what basis? If the latter, the school is still there.
