I predict that slight thread drift will eventually cause this thread to be combined with the Philip Fulmer thread.

I know.

I just think that there should be "different" and "detailed" topics to talk about.

I just think that somehow, somewhere Neyland has lost its "mojo". The atmosphere is not what it used to be. THE MAIN REASON..........The Band never plays anymore. With the Jumbo-Tron, during timeouts its all Crap they play on it and the Band never plays. That just takes away from the flow. :banghead:

If the Band never played during a game again, I would be perfectly happy. Give them pre-game and halftime. I would rather hear scores of interest and other worthwhile things during the breaks in the action.

 me too. Obviously this thread is referring to the pink elephant in the room and needs to be moved.

Was there something left to interpretation in my post?

Dude, I just think the bands are a great part of college football. I would listen to Rocky Top during every timeout, all day long.

Nothing wrong with that. I think marching bands are as outdated as leather helmets. You obviously enjoy their contributions. We simply disagree. My guess is, most people will agree with you on this one.

Neyland doesnt scare anybody anymore. Get the old butts out of the seat and get some people who actually get involved in the game. Winning is the most important thing tho.

The "old butts" phenomenon isn't just happening at Neyland. It happens at a ton of places, too, so I don't think that's the only factor.

Bands are one of the greatest things about college football, IMO. However, I don't think the Band is why Neyland is not intimitating. I realize I'm about to make a very bland opinion, but I think it just comes down to wins and losses. Florida's slogan last year was "Take Back the Swamp," mainly because of recent home losses to the Vols and FSU. If we go undefeated at home this year (tall order, I know), we'll start to get some of that lost mystique back.

For Pete's sake, if there isone thing Neyland Stadium is NOT, that is a wine and cheese crowd. I've been a few times and it gets loud when it needs to. In the 2001 game against us, the decibel meter got up higher than a jet engine.

One day hatvol, you're going to have something good to say about something related to Tennessee. I just feel it.

That wasn't crowd noise. That was your pregame meal from Calhoun's talking to you.

I love how everyone on this board overlooks my effusive praise of Bruce Pearl. Maybe if TCHFCATUTK had done something worthy of praise since the '90s, I would talk about it.

I give. What does that stand for? I can see the "at UTK." I figure the rest is about Fulmer and can only speculate from there.
