What’s the likelihood that we see civil unrest soon?

Who’s trying to impress anyone? I’m certainly not. It’s how I feel and I’m not ashamed of it, Obviously. It’s not hard to recognize that some of you disagree. However, calling the vets I know less than patriotic is something I do take personal.
Who has called any vets you know less then patriotic? No one has called you buddy John unpatriotic. I do take issue with you pretending like people will be flocking to you should shat hit the fan. Makes you sound like an over sense of self worth, a dbag, and someone who has no clue who they are talking to or what they are taking about. A clown. And I respect military service, but I will not assume, bc someone served they are patriotic. History tells us we shouldn't make that assumption.

A moderate republican would have been great a few years ago. At this point in time things are too polarized, and the left is definitely not up for negotiation. If you pick someone who is middle of the road now, it's like negotiating a price by starting out with what you think is a fair price rather than a low ball offer that leads to something you can both live with. This is fight fire with fire time unfortunately.

Your dad was right; most of it should come down to a candidate's words and not slick TV commercials. TV is about entertainment; politics shouldn't be reality show type entertainment. Part two should be the ability to remove a president who isn't who he claimed to be during the campaign.
Be careful not to be too patriotic in this thread. It brings “them” out of hiding.

I said I’m the type of guy they would look to for protection. As in someone who likes his guns, not afraid to use them if needed and willing to sacrifice himself for our future. Never said me in particular.

And clarksvol called them less than patriotic in a previous post

You just have to put thoughts out there for others to consider and not take anything too seriously. If at the end of the day, you have made someone think about something in a different way that's what it's all about.

I struggle to find one that isn’t patriotic outside of Milly. I know they exist but I’ve never met one and would be shocked if I had

Understood. I don’t have a filter so I can’t sugarcoat to save someone’s feelings. I think we’ve done WAY to much of that recently.

Not likely. The ones who would rise up are big mouths who can’t organize a tag team wrestling match let alone any form of protest.

If we're going to sit around and ignore comments about violence against people who have yard signs, while saying "but somebody said something about punching nazis", I think that nazis are probably more punchable.

Ehhh, no more punchable than Marxists of any make or model.

HIs kid has been on CPAP for a few days now. But you keep doing you, trashing a dad being with his kid while they are in the hospital.

Oh, good grief; that's like saying "your Mom wears combat boots" to give the perpetual indignant excuse to "MY Mother is DEAD!!", as if that person knows your family history and purposely sought to wound.

Trumpism has intentionally and effectively (for many) tried to blur the distinction between patriotism and nationalism. Millions of patriotic people wish to avoid being lumped in with the "nationalist". Any decrease in the outward display of "patriotism" among those millions is not due to a decrease in their patriotism but merely an attempt to avoid being mistaken as a Trumper.

It's sort of a Catch 22.

Unless one insists on spelling it 'nationalwhiteism', there is no practical distinction between the two; nationalism is essential for a healthy society.

The rest of your reply is saying millions of people are bending to leftist protofascists. With more brave patriots like that, the forecast is shite.

I don’t even know what a patriot is these days. I do know that if being a patriot requires loyalty and obedience to a government, political party or politician I’m not a patriot.

Loyalty to the idea of a constitutional republic based upon individual liberty secured by uniform application of law. Chose the reps and party closest to that constitutional intent and cast your die.

Look at it from their point of view and you may even disagree with yourself. As far as I know you never watched multiple friends/brothers/sons/daughters or other family members killed in places like Vietnam/Afghanistan or Iraq only to see a president come along and make them nameless and then seeing someone support that.
Maybe they shouldn't have supported the true patriot politicians who sent them into needless wars in the first place. Nah, much easier to just beat up people at bass pro

Biden had nothing to do Vietnam, which you brought up. I assumed you felt the same about Nixon.
I was pointing out the wars where veterans I know have fought and watched their friends die. Biden just slapped every one of them in the face and said they died for nothing. Wearing anything pro- Biden is a reminder of that slap in the face. If anything, vets may very well be the bigger threat to guys like you. Js

No need to. I’ve yet to see anyone anywhere wearing anything that supports Biden. Tells me there is indeed a universal fear of exactly what I’m talking about when you see Trump and red, white and blue at nearly every corner.

Edit: nm. I'll let you know if I ever catch that beat down you're so certain will happen.

Not sure where you live but I only see Trump stuff on the drive in to work. Those areas aren't filled with the most successful people. Most are also accentuated with a rebel flag or 3

I’m in Florida. And I’m sure a lot of what you just said has a lot to do with HOA. In upscale neighborhoods a lot of them have “rules” against political flags including American flags, extra cars, boats etc. Lets not assume that the only Trump support comes from the lower class of earning.

Keep in mind George Washington was also a traitor.
None of us were around then. We only know what the history books said about him. And let’s not be so gullible to believe every word when they pick and choose what to teach. Maybe he was. But then again, how would we REALLY know?
