What are legitimate reasons for divorce?

This thread was not intended to discuss trust laws and anti-trust laws and how to sheild ones self one step beyond the corporate veil. I made a comment and it was only intended to show my view on marriage.

I am not a lawyer. I simply do what my lawyer and CPA say I can do to legally protect myself to all exposures.

So did Willie Nelson, Wesley Snipes, and Leona Helmsley.

This whole situation is telling, IHB. Telling, indeed.

So your knocking boots with your employee? And what does she, as your employee, get paid to do?

Sexual harassment suit-finding, apparently.

And what happens if she ever leaves you or you leave her? Will you "fire" her....because that could be a wrongful termination suit, which could well-exceed anything you'd lose in a divorce settlement.

I don't know I've never been married but from what I've seen and heard is that no matter if the woman was in the wrong or not the man always gets screwed!! That Is why I ain't never getting married because she ain't getting my money or the things I've invested my money in!!

You can ax a 1099 employee for looking at you the wrong way unless there is a contract in place. Plus we're together forever.

Good call, because you would kiss your hot plate and talking mounted bass goodbye.

They evaded taxes. Big difference. We pay all our taxes. This is all after tax money I'm talking about.

Seriously though, TD, you need to stick with the basic and go start another "On the Record" thread.

From someone that comes across as very religious, this is truly saddening.

The murder in broad daylight comment is a joke. I apologize if it offended. My point is, there are laws set up that honestly shouldn't be set up. I follow some of these laws very closely. I used the GST loop hole earlier this year to a huge advantage in transferring money to a trust fund. It was all legal. Above board. I do most of what I do because I am open for lawsuits that could potentially cripple myself. The government likes to make examples out of people and it would take 1 day and one mistake for my telemarekting compnay to call 12,000 people by mistake who are on the DNC list. All that would have to happen is the wrong list is uploaded and boom I'm potentially in hot water. I can't be there every minute. The other aspect is that I deal with variable products and commercial P&C alot. I have a 10 million E&O policy but if for some reason a business is written incorrectly and not underwritten properly and there is a lawsuit I am on the hook. At 10 million and 1 dollars I am on the hook. We live in a sue you society and I am just legally placing walls between myself and potential lawsuits.

Losing to UT Martin at halftime constitutes a pretty good reason to me.

I have never, or will ever, do one single thing that either a CPA or lawyer tells me is illegal. I will though push the envelope to the limit because I already feel I am paying enough in taxes.

Ahhh......I was referring to Biblical marriage.
SuperDave laid it out for you and you ignoring it, just as you are ignoring the words of Christ. Thata is sad to me a fellow believer.

I thought I responded to this earlier but don't see my post. Not sure if I backed out of the post before submitting it. We have already given our vows in a church by a preacher. We had a regular wedding. Just no court documents.

How did you do this without a marriage license?

Because of the overall moral decline of our society. It's going downhill fast and the only way to get back on track is for each individual to move closer to God. Live a more spiritual and moral lifestyle that adheres more closely to the Word.

So the only way to be a person of good morals is to be a Christian? That seems a little rigid.

No, being a moral citizen doesn't require a relationship with God. But if you have that relationship it makes it easier to lead a moral life. It doesn't make you perfect, it makes you forgiven. Saved by grace means just that. Saved. Christians are not immune from sin and poor choices. Humans were given free will for a reason. Those who have chosen to follow the Lord still trip up. They still fall. They still make serious errors in judgment. What we have is the knowledge that we are forgiven if we sincerely ask for that forgiveness and do our utmost not to repeat.

Then you are not married,Legally or Biblically....period.

Why does he need to be married in the eyes of Uncle Sam to be married? Sounds very legalist to me. He said his vows before a minister and God. That was good enough for Christians and others for over a thousand years.

You telling me William Wallace wasn't married to that chick with the perky boobs? He'd vehemently disagree.
