What are you going to do next season?

Im not renewing my tickets for a few different reasons. One, I have step son who is 9 and plays football most Saturdays. Two, being that I'm 2 hours away and my step son playing most Saturdays, it doesn't always work out and I have to miss one of the two. Three, I support he vols. I support our players. I support he hard work they put in. I've been a fan my entire life, and no one in here can tell anyone who is a fan or who isn't a fan. My main issue is just with the fact that cbj was the 5th choice. That tells me that he was not the priority candidate.

Now with that said, that does not mean that I do not think he is a great coach. His record speaks for itself in the big east and Mac. The issue I have is how Tennessee has been the past several years. It sucks that he was our 5th choice but thats not his fault. I'm just holding back the comment that he's the answer to our prayers before he first game even happens.

I'm goin to buy new shirts. I do every year. I'll buy a new hat as I do every year. I'll just be in he comfort of my home with friends cheering the vols on.

I understand having kids involved with sports and how much time and money is involved. I coached LL in Karns when my boy was playing.

As far as coach Jones goes he may have been our 5th choice, but he was better than any of those above him and I truly believe that.

I respect your choice to spend your days on the field with your stepson even applaud you for it. But what do you say we try and spend some extra cash just to show we support our Vols and try and make up some ground for these fair weather fans.

he might be. i hope that he is.

if DH, based on his experience at FSU and bama, understands what it takes to get everything on track, is working like heck to do it despite the odds against him, and eventually has UT as a major success to end his career on, then we all may be rewarded with UT returning to being competitive in the SEC.

if, on the other hand, DH is a puppet to those who hired him and who also were instrumental in creating the mess, and is going to just coast into his golden years without ruffling any feathers, then all UT fans are going to be rewarded with the thrill of moral victories and occasionally making it to a bowl game ... but the donors get the added sting of feeling it in their bank accounts.

it's a tough call to make, and the 3/1/13 deadline is looming.

I understand completely, but think of what we ask of the kids who play for us and what we ask them to do on game day. The kids are the ones affected the most. They come here to hear 100,000 fans cheering for them in Neyland Stadium. That's truly who we take it out on.

Now is not the time to turn your back on them. If you can afford tickets I would say get them. There are thousands of people who can not afford to go who would love to have season tickets. If you are blessed enough to be able to afford tickets, I say buy them and go if not for any other reason than for the thousands who would love to be there win or lose.

Can you imagine some of these guys as parents?

You are not playing at a championship level so I will not be attending your LL games. Let me know when you get your act together.

I coached my son for 6 years from ages 6-12. You would not believe some of the stuff I have seen on the ball field from parents. As a matter of fact kids are easier to deal with than their parents. Now I will say I got really lucky and for the most part had great parent support.

Thanks for all the love ... I got nothing but love for all Volunteer Loyalist!!! Not in a gay way though. lol

I SAID IT"S GREAT TO BE A TENNESSEE VOL!!!!!!

Hmmmmm. I get what you're saying, but I don't really care for the use of the word loyalist. Hsa way to much of a Revolutionary War "British Loyalist" feel to me.

"I have nothing but love for the Volunteer Loyal" doesn't that really have a better ring to it? Mull that over a little, try it on for size and

GBO!

I just LOVE people who don't have to open their wallet telling us that do year after year what to think say and do
I never said that people who do not go to games are not fans..I just think it is different when you have to open your wallet time and time again
I agree with everyone here that the the 3/01 deadline is looming

But I bet you'll be making that 2 hour drive once we start winning again, right?

I'm guessing you didn't do tell in reading and comprehension in school bc if you did, you could've answered he question yourself.

I have a 9 year old step son. He plays football on nearly every Saturday. I choose my step sons football game. I know that may sound crazy to you, but it's the right thing to do and also what I want to do. I can watch most Tennessee games on tv. I can't skip my step sons game and watch it on tv.

Like I said, I still support Tennessee and its players. I want them to win like everyone else, but sometimes(and this may seem crazy to some of you) there are just more important things in life han catching every game at neyland. I can watch it at home and still be a fan. Last I heard, it was ok to do and not breaking any law.
