What are your thoughts on Marijuana legalization?

Well, they might not touch it. I sure as heck would if I was CEO of ADM or ConAgra.

Out.

I doubt it. I believe that ADM, ConAgra, and other agricultural giants could grow a great deal of high quality marijuana very cost efficiently.

You are right, they could. But the street guy does not get taxed. Also, I cannot grow it in the quantity that Conagra can, but add up the thousands of people that only need to grow enough to supply their local neighborhood and they can compete nicely with Conagra.

Do you honestly think such major companies would touch something with the liability of marijuana? Do you think they would touch a product that would involve regulation and constant oversight by various government agencies?

No. A large corporation would never risk getting a bad image to make a huge profit...

There's no way that Phillip Morris would convert plants already designed to make a very similar product over to something that would soil their good name.

Also, I want to address the assertion that private growers could make it cheaper. The ability to grow in bulk always cuts down on the price to produce. A private grower will never be able to make any product for the same price as a corporation with vastly superior resources.

Our entire economy is based on a single principle. If there is a market for a product, someone will step up and provide that product.

I don't think your argument holds water on a large scale. If it did, Mom and Pop stores would still be able to compete with WalMart. A corporation will go to great lengths (even selling at a loss) to kill small market competition. Diversification allows the corporation to take losses in certain sectors as long as they project long-term gains.

Wal Mart has not run people selling stolen electronics out of business has it? Exactly how much money does it cost a person to grow ten pot plants and sell it in the neighborhood?

Would be good for business though. Business would go through the roof.

Nope....smoking of all types would be banned...if it's not with the health nuts, it will be with the religious crowd. Cigarettes are legal but yet they want to ban those on private property. Weed would be tossed into that ban as well.

I have smoked but it has been years ago, but I have always thought a person with a buzz off of weed compared to a person with a buzz off of alcohol is really no comparison. The weed wins out everytime as far as I know.Until it's made legal, good luck with getting a job when they do the drug screen, and if you have a job and you get hurt somehow while on the job, good luck keeping your job and good luck trying to pay the doctor/hospital bills if you test positive for weed in your system.

Ban on private property? Jeez... Some people in this country just need a little j to calm down.

Not reading 4 pages on this just so I can say: should be legal.

Treat it just like alcohol - public high-ness, high driving, etc.

I have heard of drinking tons of water to do this also.

Yes, but this leaves your pee pee very clear, a sure sign for a drug screener that he has a "masker" on his hands. If you piss clear, it is standard for the clinic to reject it, make you wait and get another sample.

Therefore, people will drink tons of water pre-test, to dilute their urine (i.e. less THC in piss), but also take vitamin B12 to color their pee yellow. If you take too much VB12 though, your pee turns a very hilarious neon yellow, which I'm sure would be another dead give away.

Now go pass that test!

better yet, don't smoke the stuff at all and you'll never have to worry about those pesky drug screens. whether it's tobacco or marijuana, you're still inhaling chemical laced smoke into your lungs so it's bad for your long term health. That doesn't mean that I think either should be illegal though.

I don't know if this is true or not, but I've been told that poppy seeds that come on some hamburger buns will test positive for pot. Does anybody know if that is true or not?

shouldn't test positive for THC, but for cocaine, which is derived from the poppy plant (or maybe it's heroin)...

The poppy seed thing was covered on an episode of Mythbusters on Discovery Channel.

An innocent amount of poppy seed muffins or cake (two muffins equivalent) can make you test positive for heroin for up to 48 hrs. They proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is true.
