If thats true I think we would get the Gator...UK went there last year and bowls are sometimes reluctant to take same team...UK fans would travel to Nashville more...think Cats deserve a better bowl though they are like 4th in SEC...If UGA and Bama get into CFP that puts Ole Miss in the Sugar so don't see how UK at 9-3 aren't taken by Citrus or Outback
There is a chance Peach or Outback takes UT but I agree that Gator, Music City or Charlotte are the likely pickI see what you mean; Ole Miss could feasibly go to the Sugar or Fiesta bowl in these scenarios, leaving more options for other teams. It all depends on what happens with Bama and UGA. So Gator bowl is best case scenario for the Vols, and Music City and Dukes Mayo in Charlotte as worst case. Praying for a Florida trip…
Other Possibilities…
Georgia- CFP
Alabama- Sugar or CFP
Ole Miss- Sugar or Fiesta
Arkansas- Peach
Texas A&M- Citrus
Kentucky- Outback
Tennessee- Gator
Miss State- Music City
Doesnt matter the payout...all the money goes to SEC office and distributed out to all the teams...I think is going to be Music City, it’s turned into the number one destination for the NFL. This bowl pays almost twice what the Taxslayer pays. As far as a tourist destination Nashville is way bigger than Jacksonville.
Those are pretty good pointsI've heard that officials in Nashville aren't dying for tennessee. They want an SEC team that has to travel and will stay all weekend for better revenue at the bars and restaurants. With Tennessee half the crowd drives to the stadium and swerves home lol.
Edit: if the rumor of the Spring Game in Nissan is true then Florida or NC are better bowls for easy recruiting purposes for prospects in those states to attend. Tennessee recruits have easier travel for the spring game in Nashville.
