Thank you.Good luck to you and yours!!
We’ve got our water distribution going pretty well now. Tankers set up throughout the city refilling containers. Bottled water in gallon jugs or 1/2L bottles. We went to one today after finally getting through most of our purchased water, and the only wait was to allow an empty tanker to leave and the new one to get set up. My husband starts volunteering there tomorrow.Thank you.
Went to Walmart early this morning. Waited over 30 minutes to fill up our 3 Gallon jugs.
The gas line was 30-40 cars long. Fortunately, we had both filled up on Friday.
We did a Publix run so us and our four dogs have enough food.
I hope our area makes it through this without too much damage
I’ve been traveling so I’m not sure if you’re at home or if you evacuated. We’ve got our water distribution going pretty well now. Tankers set up throughout the city refilling containers. We’re really fortunate that that weather has been beautiful with highs in the 70’s. Classic mountain October weather!

Yeah, I had a ticket to go to Boston next week. Decided to head up a week early to avoid Herman or whatever the name is. My parents are still in Europe, tried prepping their place best I could. We are all in the mandatory evacuation zone.Hope you and your family stays safe also
Did you evacuate or riding it out?
EDIT: Just saw your post that you are heading out.
We went to Greenville SC Sun-Fri to shower, do laundry, stock up on water, catch up on the news (we still don’t have internet, just cellular, which is still weak), and rest. Power came back on in our neighborhood We’d afternoon. We decided that if we had power OR water, we’d stick it out.I’ve been traveling so I’m not sure if you’re at home or if you evacuated.
My friend who lives in Weaverville left early and is in Virginia. He is still not sure when he can go back home.
I was flipping channels looking for weather updates and hit on the movie “Twister”
Very appropriate
Best wishes to you all
Glad that you are going to be safe and I hope that your parents stay safe too!!At the airport, flying out of Tampa.

Good ideas to conserve water...Last night: ham and beans, using canned beans once I realized how much water I would need for dried beans
Tonight: Ingles freezer aisle MRE, a one-skillet dinner served over microwaved Minute Rice brown rice. If you are ever anticipating a water outage, grab some meals like these. Another brand: Voila by Birds Eye, altho the sodium, holy crap.
When meal planning in aweatherwater outage, think three things:
(1) water needed for prep (rinsing vegetables etc)
(2) water needed to cook (1/4 - 1/2 cup in the skillet; can you sub with boxed chicken stock, etc?)
(3) water needed to clean up (can you serve on paper plates? plastic utensils? - a one skillet meal means only one pot to clean)

The Mayor of Tampa said earlier "If you are in an evacuation zone and decide to stay and ride it out, you are going to Die" and that is a pretty scary thing to hear the Mayor say....Yeah, I had a ticket to go to Boston next week.
