Whenever I travel, I like to go to local restaurants. My daughter’s at a softball camp, and we had to drive a ways to get here. We’re in a small town called Palatka, Florida.

For lunch, I went to Colee’s Restaurant, a local diner. The atmosphere was like any local, small-town diner, which I like, but unfortunately, the food was not very good. I got grilled chicken, a baked potato, and steamed broccoli. The chicken was dry, and the broccoli was mushy. The baked potato was good, but it’s hard to mess up a baked potato.

Even though the food was not great, I’m glad I went here. It’s more about the experience. When I’m traveling, I’d much rather have a bad meal at a local place I’ll likely never see again than a mediocre meal at a place like Applebee’s.

I'm the same way, love traveling, and trying places like that.

Tuna & Sweet Potato Fries in the air fryer
First time using the air fryer for the fries.
Cut them and soaked them in salted water for 20 minutes
Put them in a bowl and added Avocado Oil, black pepper, garlic powder, & smoked paprika.
Very good.
Any other ways to bake them will be appreciated

I make French fries (from white taters) in the air fryer. Lots of times, I skip the soaking. They're not quite as crisp, but they're still good, especially since I cook them at 400. I use olive oil, sea salt, and usually paprika.

What HAS made a real difference is that I'm now spraying on olive oil (from a glass bottle with a spray pump, not a can) instead of coating them with olive oil in the bowl. They still get enough oil for the paprika and salt to stick, but they're much lighter and crispier. No oil left in the bowl when I put them in the fryer.

But also still fine with just pouring in some oil.

I'm glad you're enjoying your toy!

Toy is right! Fun way to cook.

I was thinking of trying white potatoes next time and like your idea of sea salt instead of regular salt. I’m also going to try the pump.
I did 10 minutes at 350 and then 3 minutes at 400. Did shake a few times.
Going to try some Cayenne Pepper next time. Cinnamon also
