Yep. At an Ingles, in fact.

During the season, individual Ingles stores buy produce from area tailgate-garden marketers that couldn’t be unloaded earlier that day (mostly maters) and sell them in the store per pound.

This was the first time I’d seen them from a commercial grower, or at least one big enough to have a sticker on the mater.

Otherwise, if it’s not the day for local tailgate farmers, I go to the WNC Farmers Market, the big wholesale sheds.

I’m about over trying to grow heirlooms here in Fungal Paradise. If some local young couple is trying to make a go of it, doing the Lord’s work, I’m happy to throw them some money.
