What did you take away from the win against Stanford?

Whether you love her or hate her...if you're a LadyVols true fine and a true fan of Women's basketball...you have to be happy for Holly Warwick. If you don't feel she contributed toward this key win...I feel sorry for you!
I have loved Lady Vol Basketball before you were probably born, but I put the blame for the discontent in this program on Holly Warwick, so you can feel sorry for me. I feel sorry for you if you have not seen the glory years this program once had!

Well said. It's not that the "need a new coach" group dislikes Holly as a person . She was, is and always will be a loyal LV. Said group remembers when beating the #10 team in the country at home was expected, not seen as necessary to making the NCAA's. Eight years without a ff appearance. A .500 record in the SEC last year and fears that even that record may be difficult to achieve this year. The unprecedented fact of being out of the top 25 for the second year in a row. All this despite 6 + McDonald's AA.
Can we regain some or all of our past glory ? I don't see why not. Despite last year's results, we have the #1 recruiting class in the country coming in next season.
(Yes, as HC, Holly gets credit for that)
But, as last year's and this year's (so far) teams show,
the team's with the best players don't always win.
The win over Stanford was encouraging. If we continue to play with passion, I expect good results will follow.
To get to the ff and the NC game, we will need passion and direction. The jury is still out as to whether Holly is the HC who can give us that direction.

I smiled at this...but you're still a negavol, TJ my sweetheart.

I see what you did there. Funny. This message board is like Westworld. Some of y'all act like robots. Programmed to like all things Holly. No matter what.

I saw MR make some strong moves, some boxing out. I also saw her jogging slowly down the court, not making it to the free throw line before the shot on both ends. I also saw her backing away, hands bent at the wrist and up, like, "oh, don't call a foul on me."

I saw DD appear to have some fire, some enjoyment. She also seemed disappointed at times. Too much up and (especially) down.

It appeared that JR had read this board. She seemed determined to BE relevant.

I saw Alexa make some good plays. Her defense was better. She didn't shoot much, however.

I saw Jamie being active on both ends. I'd like to see her be in position to reject shots more often.

I'd like to see more movement on offense. The team reminds me of my daughter's 4th grade rec team--trot down to the basket and assume your position and DON'T MOVE!

I think Nunn is coming along.

Holly seemed to enjoy the game. Tara looks very tired to me--is she ill?

I was glad for the win, and hope for many more.

Tara did look tired. It may have been the trip East. She's what 64 years old? Haven't seen any kind of announcement about when she's going to retire or anything so I don't know about that. But I agree she did look very tired in this game.

I'm not a robot or I'd be programmed to ignore the constant negative anti-HW barrage from the ridiculous to the sublime. I'm sad that it's become trendy to do the online pile-on with snide comments. I don't like everything HW, but cutting her down is definitely not my go-to move.

Geez, Westwold would be like heaven. But then I'd miss you.

If Tennessee keeps losing you best believe that Holly will be the go to move. :eek:k:

Cut her down? Nope, more like Drag Her.

Troll alert.:lolabove:

Drop our next two?

Next up is Troy State. And you think the LVs will lose to them? That alone proves that you must be a troll. :)

It's not trolling. It's common to have a let down after a big win.

How much credence would you give to a poster who can't even spell her name?
