What do you define as rich?

sorry for the delay in responding as I was cleaning the blood off my broadheads. What was the question again?

Bow and arrow? I actually view that differently. It takes skill to kill an animal with a bow. Not just sit in some tree with pee all over ya, beer in hand, waiting for bambi to walk within a quarter mile of you.

Bow hunting computer mod, huh? Interesting.

In the state you hate, you can't use a rifle (if I remember correctly). Must use a shotgun if you want to use a modern gun.

150 yards is about pushing a slug, for me. Most deer I've killed I could have done so with a bow.

The biggest one would have walked away if not for a well placed .270 round.

That said, I've put more down instantly with a shotgun and a muzzle loader than I have with a rifle.

I much prefer to duck hunt, though. Deer hunting takes little skill, unless you are hunting trophy bucks. That takes skill.

Here's an honest question. Why do you hunt? Do you get satisfaction from it? I personally don't understand hunting an animal that can't shoot back. I would be more inclined to hunt if a deer was armed but the fact is Bambi isn't firing back. Best she can do is run. Help me understand the thrill.

I figure if it ever goes to hell then ammo will be hard to find and a man's gotta eat right? I haven't done it seriously in a while but I like the challenge of a bow. Have no problem filling the freezer with a rifle though. Also hunt turkey (amazingly smart bird) and that's a more fun IMO

hardest animal I've ever hunted is Antelope in AZ. Damn things run 20mph, have 8x vision, can see 320deg around them and live in open fields. Did it once and it kicked my rear for 3 days straight (but I filled the tag)

and I have quite a few skills that would surprise many people :)

always moving since they feed while walking. Miles and miles of tracking followed by a few hundred yards on my belly and the closest shot I got was 250yds.

I will be hard to find :p

Hater(so to speak)
I can't speak much to hunting. I used to waterfowl hunt. The main reason I did hunt was the comradare with my buddies. I also love nature and experiencing it. It also was an excuse to get away from the wife for a while and escape life's issues. Others may whittle or something. The main reason i hunted geese was i was getting sick and tired of them defacating all over my yard as i live on a river. The term 'like sh*t through a goose' is THE MOST TRUTHFUL EUPHAMISM EVER SPOKEN!!!!I teach hunter's education. MOST hunters have a greater appreciation of wildlife and the environment that any tree hugging hippie ever dreamed.

I can speak more to fishing. Most fish are a menace and need to be stopped before they destroy our nation! (I'm channeling my inner joevols) I am on a divine mission to eradicate this particular threat. I have been blessed with a particular knack of battling walleye, so I focus on this particular species. Walleye are a particularly nasty fish. The have cat-like teeth, needle sharp dorsal fins, and gill plates sharp as razors. They can leave the water for up to 2 hours to attack people on dry land. I'm just doing my part to help protect my fellow man. Spending hours at a time away from the hustle and bustle/noise surrounded by beautiful scenery is a sacrifice i am willing to make to help mankind. Besides, they are very tasty!;-)

Seriously, it's a hobby, an escape. Plus it's good practice in learning to feed one's family because of the coming downfall/implosion/collapse of our nation...

I smoke cigars and drink down at the local parlor. That's where I go to get away from my wife, job, and hang out. I like the alcohol more than the cigars honestly. It always makes people more interesting.

I've spoken about it before but some of the fires that happened in Arizona were places we were trying to work on and got kicked out by the environmentalists. Could have saved some property if allowed to finish
