What does Bama game do for recruiting?

We're offering Simms or someone. We aren't getting stuck with all eggs in one basket again. Not while this staff is here. I don't know who it will be, but we're bringing in an alternate plan at QB.

I personally believe Bray will be the guy, but we'd be stupid to stop there.

Your right volfan76 I dont even know who Jacques Smith is. Never met him in my life. I guess i just get lucky when I tell his stats every week 1 hour after the game is over. I guess it is just coincidence

referring to the OP, i think that way Kiffin has stood by Crompton and the improvement that Crompton is showing, will make a huge difference in our QB recruitment going into 2011. this year, alot of kids showed some interest in us, but wouldnt committ. starting next year, i believe it will be more of a situation of Kiffin having his pick from several top rated recruits.

Well I don't really think there was anyone in this class that fit our system, to write home about--atleast at the moment

I do think that Bray will be good down the road

But from everything I hear here (lol) and from the main websites 2011 is the year for pro-style QB's

I could not agree more with this statement.:clapping:

This might be a stupid question but would it hurt us more or help us more in recruiting if we red shirt Bray? I say this because if Bray starts next season an 11 QB could say well they have their QB of the future, but on the otherhand if Bray is a red shirt he will go head to head with a 11 recruit but it could hurt us in the 12 class, so which is better?

If Bray starts from day 1 it may hurt recruiting. If he redshirts then recruits will see him as unproven and feel they can beat him out

TO MH:

Unless he showed up on his own and after the game started CJ Mosley was not on the list of visitors for unofficial or Official, but was there last weekend. I thing he was at the LSU game. Then again I could be wrong. 90% of the recruits we had at the game were 2011 and 2012 prospects. Which is a good thing for us.

We had Shon Coleman and James Stone with 2 JUCOs there. Theother 2010 prospcets were commits we already had.

I asked James Bryant and he said that he has heard about the LB and OL commitment rumors. He said probably Luc,James, and Cullen.

I also don't think the game made that big of a difference in rregards to recruiting for UT. Again UT is a school that has always been near the top. The new staff most believe will get them back. I think the spots UT has left on the board will be filled with players that were considering UT before this game. It is just now a matter of when they commit. I think Kiffin might try and market the program again by getting commits to commit this week to make it look like the game had something to do with it, but I doubt it really did.

I could J Luc commiting this week, because most believe he is UT bound, and maybe J James unless he is still wavering on UGA who is behind UT for his services. But I think he is going to the UF-UGA game.

By kiffin sticking by Cromp, and making Cromp look at least like an avg QB, it shows other HS QBS that they can play for a big time program and also improve over their 3 or 4 yrs with this staff.

Hard to say...I think it just depends on the 2011 recruit. I think this staff has shown that it is going to play the players who give the best opportunity to win games. No one has a safe starting spot this year (except EB) and I think that mentality will continue through the years to come. If Bray comes in and gives us the best chance to win he will start next year. If not then he might red shirt.
Regardless of what happens with Bray, I think Kiffin & Co. will make the pitch that it doesn't matter who started the previous year, the competition atmosphere we have is amazing and he has proven that to recruits. If the new 2011 recruit is better than whoever starts next year then he will start as a Freshman, however, I think we end up doing something like what has happened at Southern Cal this year with Matt Barkley as a FR starting QB. They still picked up Jesse Scroggins for 2010 because they made him believe he has a chance to beat Barkley out. It will be fun to watch play out either way.

Also, a lot hinges on what Stephen's will be able to do during the offseason. He could beat out Bray, Simms, whoever and be our starter next year. If that happens or if that is what Kiffin is thinking will happen then it will be interesting what they do with Bray. If he redshirts then we are back to square one with a 2011 recruit and the competition game. They will not redshirt Simms either way because of the depth issues. If Bray is not redshirted either then it will be interesting to see how that is spun to a 2011 recruit by this staff. Man, I love recruiting.

.......And it shows Kiffin will stick with a QB and not jerk him out the second he throws an int, or makes a few mistakes

Honestly, i believed that UT could have won the game (thoughts before the game even started). I wasnt going to be very mad if they lost, but i am upset becasue they should have won the game! i mean if licoln made all his field goals and we didnt scpre a td and lost 12-9, i would be content with that, but when the score could have been 19-12, thats why i am so upset

its all about competition... if bray is able to srat as a freshmen i think that will be are best option and it also means he is the real deal

The reality is that we are 3-4 and unranked. We have only played 2 decent games, and no one is marveling at us. I cannot imagine that our recruiting will benefit much from a .500 season...

Dude come on your posts have all been really negative.... be positive for like 100 posts.

Alright man, its obvious that you still want Mr. Fulmer still around. Look at what Bama did after Saban's first year they were 6-6 with a loss against ULM and they pulled in the top class that year. We have the easy part of our schedule coming up, 7 or 8 wins is a very strong possibility.

I will go ahead and refute two of his claims right now and we can go ahead and see who is right. the one about simms NOT getting an offer and the one about scroggins coming to ut. simms will and scroggins won't. it won't take long to find out for sure and when we do i'll be calling you out with him.

the guy didn't say simms wasn't gonna get an offer he just said it was his opinion everyone gives their opinions in here it would be different if he said my sources say simms isn't getting an offer and as far as scrogins who knows so quit trying to be a web bad a#@ and calling ppl out for OPINIONS, all of what u said is an OPINION, so what is the difference
