What does Bama game do for recruiting?

CLK is going out of his way to put the ball in Teague's hands. Those little bubble screens prove that Kiffin thinks Teague can break big plays if given the chance...

Teague showed some quicks when he got it. He needs to be the one on returns, not Nuke.

I think this game showed once again how important special teams are and how much we need michael palardy. There is no way we should have lost that game I mean really 3 missed/blocked field goals is ridiculous.. sorry I'm not trying to hate on the Vols I love them but to play that great and lose it like that really kills me.

I am not sure Palardy could have made either of the two FGs that were blocked. It is very difficult to kick a FG with a 6-5 364lb defensive tackle jumping at you from about six feet. The problem on those two kicks was we were unable to block the monster.

Wrong.... I watched replay after replay of all of the kicks missed. I am a kicker and know a little about it...

I don't care if you are injured or not. If he had a brain, he would have told CLK that he didn't have the leg to hit a 47 on that day. I have been hurt and kicked. My injury was such that it hurt when I kicked, but I could do just as good as normal. His, I have no clue. But if it was bad enough to not hit a 47 then he shouldn't have played.

People may say 47 is a long way. Well, tell that to the other 50+ kickers in the state that can hit that fairly easily distance wise that aren't getting paid 17 grand (thought that was what UT's tuiton was) a year to play there.

As a kicker, you are responsible for getting it over the line. To be honest, on one of the kicks, if Cody didn't block it, someone else that jumped would have. His kicks were little panzy line drives. Who knows, it may have just been a bad day kicking wise. I also don't believe we should blame the loss on him entirely because its not true. We had the ball so many times in their territory and didn't score. My suggestion to volnation is to give Lincoln some viagra so he can finally get it up...

I don't care if you were-are a kicker. Cody would have blocked the first one or you would have kicked it wide right. The second one was too low, but Cody was also breaking through the line. I think it would have been short if it had been kicked higher. It is interesting that yesterday, they were using two defensive tackles to try to shore up the blocking on FGs. I don't think we will play anyone the rest of the year who can manhandle our offensive line the way Cody did.

It is all speculation. There are so many factors that go into a successful kick; line blocking, the snap, hold, injuries, and kick itself. Even within the kick there are factors that determiine the outcome. The kickers job is to elevate the ball as quickly as possible. Lincoln's ball had no chance of netting 3 pts. It would not have had the distance and definately did not have the elevation, probably due to the injury...speculation. It seems to me, that if Cody is lined up to the kickers left of center, that kick was headed wide left anyway...speculation. I have followed Palardy for several years now. His kicks get up and elevate immediately. Very little potential for a block unless you are standing in the backfield as he hits the ball. The snap he gets on contact of the ball is crushing. It pops off his foot like an explosion so 40-60 yard field goals are never out of the question. With my own eyes, I saw him hit a 70 and just miss a 75 yard field goal with a snap and hold. You are in for a treat.

I love Teague and what he has shown in the receiving game thus far, but his run blocking has tons to be desired. H just needs time and more coaching and I have no doubt he will get there. Well, that and some more size.

This board is great sometimes! Oo, please tell Jac we love him and cannot wait to watch him wear Orange for us. I can see him as a team captain early on in his career with us. He seems like a natural born leader and obviously has been blessed with some amazing abilities on the field. I hope Palardy is the answer on our field goal issues. We have always been known for producing outstanding kickers and its a shame that that is what ended up losing us such an important game. Not just a game, but a huge milestone in the rebuilding of this program.

Oo, I hope your info is accurate. We need some positive news right now and something along those lines would be exactly what the Vol faithful need to soothe such a heart breaking, mind wracking loss like Bama.

What Kiffin can say to recruits is this, "If we had you...we win that game."

Saban can say, "You would probably have been on the bench for that game."

Kiffin was on Nashville radio yesterday and they mentioned all the positive vibes after the Bama game. Kiffin said it had a huge impact on recruiting. He said they got an unreal amount of calls, emails and texts from kids all over the country. They were all excited and he said the interest in UT is growing among the top kids in the country and he expect this class to be unreal.

Kiffin is always going to spin things in his favor to get fans excited. The truth is that UT is on its way back and prospects see that. It was no different after the UF game or the UGA game. The staff has demonstrated it can create a scheme that is effective to win games. I know it is fun to get excited but I think that any player that is now excited about UT has had interest for a while. It is not like every recruit now is jumping ship elsewhere and going to UT. There might be players from programs struggling like UGA that might look, but this is recruiting and things change.

In regards to the kicking, even the announcer made the commit on his first attempt which he made about how low the angle of the kick was. They said this might be an issue later on and it was.

True, Cody blocked the first one with his armpit. He isn't THAT tall. The kick was low. a foot over and it hits him in the throat...

That guy has 0 sources and 0 inside information. he is guessing based on what he's read in here and hoping to get lucky. don't believe a word of it.

Wondering if you are gonna man up and eat your crow?

Probably not.

What does the SC game do for recruiting?

What does the Memphis game do for recruiting?

What does the Vanderbilt game do for recruiting?

What does the Kentucky game do for recruiting?

What does the Capital One bowl do fore recruiting?

Just thought I would put those out there so people can just cut and paste as opposed to starting a new lame ass thread every week.
