You are just guessing he doesn't come just as O.V. is guessing he does come. I honestly don't care one way or the other with him because I think we are just fine with Bray. Get over yourself and STFU.

Thanks guys. I think that if we do sign a JUCO QB he will start next season because it would be stupid to sign him if he didn't, unless we just used him as a practice QB. Even then I dont think this staff would waste a scholly on a backup QB when they could sign a position of need player...

offered cameron newton?he has the size,strength and speed to help us win until bray is ready to lead.to my understanding he has a very strong arm as well.just puzzles me really.

ive been wondering the exact same thing but i think the main reason is his behavior probllems. he got suspended for the 1st half of the game when our staff went to evaluate him but in the 2nd half alone he through for 300 something yards so i still dont see why we dont offer him. either way i support our staff and there decisions 110%:)

If anyone gets offered, it will be Simms as he fits our offense. Newton--who is better suited in a spread--most likely ends up at Miss. State. I heard yesterday that they offered and he accepted, but never saw anything official so I don't know. Either way, I think we end up with Simms if we don't get another freshman signed with this class.

Didnt i read that the coaching staff is telling bray he has a great shot a starting next year when he comes in as EE and if he does good? Would that hurt Bray and his confidence a little if we go get another QB and let him start over him? I mean he is supposed to be the savior QB next year........and yes i know he is skinny lol

yea i think he will start but everybody else wants him to redshirt... and over half of the people that post say tenn will be back in 2011 2012...dont they think bray needs some experience????????? why not next year .....

This staff will pretty much give ANY incoming freshman the chance to prove they DONT deserve playing time a soon as they get here. Just look at this years class. Bray will get the opportunity for sure.....what he is able to do with it is the question.

Not giving a source but what I have been told is that simms is a partial silent. He is waiting to see if we get a top freshman commit. If we do he is coming and CLK is fine with that he understands we are still aproaching two other QB and if they don't commit he will be a vol. By the way it is a guy in the bar! I bet u all are getting tired of hearing that from me;-). He'S a pretty good guy in the bar to know if your a vol fan though. Go vols

Man if you were here before we lost to Bama you would realize that we have discussed ad nauseum that we lost to UCLA ENTIRELY because Crompton had one of the worst QB performances of the last 5 CFB seasons from a starting QB. He threw picks on 3 consecutive plays...we still were a yard short of winning.

Auburn game Crompton and the WR played like crap.

Since the UGA game it is a whole new Crompton.

TN talent wise is not far enough above very many teams to overcome a complete meltdown at QB...

Put it another way, Alabama has about 30% more talent on their current roster than TN, but with a QB playing about twice as good as Crompton in the UCLA game, we were blocked kicks away from beating you in your house.

I would say they were near even. And no we should not have lost to Auburn. Our Receivers and Crompton were awful as they were against UCLA. Although our WRs that are playing now were not really healthy against UCLA.

Jones and Moore were still very much injured in the UCLA game. The past 2 games, it has become clear what they can do when healthy...
