what happened to Westbrook?

Ok. Kindly quote where I said any of those things. What I did say is I'm surprised no one from the television broadcasts to the media has even acknowledged the injury as it has clearly been a factor in the last two games.... even if to say she is limited by an undisclosed injury wearing the bandage/brace whatever.

Those injuries were known, and concussions are unpredictable. I don't remember "freaking out" over it but given how you're making up quotes now it doesn't surprise me that you might be "misremembering" whatever I said...
Please if you watch the games and listen to the announcers, they can't tell the difference between Nared and Russell let alone notice a player is wearing a brace that doesn't normally! Heck Texas AMs coach didn't even know how to pronounce Jamie's name. This isn't football, players on the court are considered healthy, able to RUN up and down the court.

Some announcers are better than others, but even Nared got a press release a month ago for her "lower-extremity" injury despite not missing any games. I'm surprised nothing similar has been said about Westbrook's injury as it certainly appears to be more serious...

Thank god for your persistent quest for the TRUTH. The dark secret has now been exposed and a conspiracy tracing to the highest levels of the Illuminati has been cracked.

UT Lady Vols, Georgia both getting boost from freshmen

In the story, I hope is everyone is sitting down becasue it is SO SHOCKING (Please braced yourselves, I am not kidding- TRIGGER WARNING!) that, Oh my god, I am trembling as I type over the brute malevolence of it all; the depth of the depravity and the sheer scale of what maybe the BIGGEST COVER UP OF ALL TIME:

While she exhorts Davis, Warlick also reins in the practice time, mindful of the minutes Tennessee's freshmen are logging. Westbrook now is wearing a compression sleeve on her left knee. "It is a long season for them," Warlick said. "We've cut down on practice and really zeroed in on what we need to do."

There you have it, the scandalous truth that THEY did not want you to know!!!

A freshman player has an over use injury and is wearing a compression sleeve to help manage the problem. Yes, you read that right. The shock waves from this story will be felt for years and I fear the program shall never recover.

This story clearly would have been all over the national and international news if not the for nefarious actions of those who perpetuated what will forever be known as "compression sleeve-gate" DAHDAH....

Now that the truth is finally out, we can only pray that justice will be served.

as "compression sleeve-gate" DAHDAH....

A compression sleeve? I guess we were both wrong.

It's early February, our super talented point guard is already breaking down and playing at a fraction of where she was. What idiot would think that's a big deal?

I do admit it makes all those posts I made (somewhere, apparently) where I alleged Holly went all "Gillooly" on EW and the staff was trying to permanently cripple her look kinda ridiculous. Oh well....

Well, we all make mistakes. But, I do find it suspicious that Holly has NEVER explicitly stated that she was not on the grassy knoll. So....

Nared is really good at playing the passing lanes. And who woulda thunk Meme Jackson would become the team's main outside threat!

Westbrook should accept moving to the two guard position next season. I think that is her best position. Jasmine is a much better point guard and Hayes can be with a little more control. We may need three occasionally but usually two play most of the minutes at that position.

Respectfully disagree. She continues to look horrible in reduced minutes. At this point you can make a strong argument she's hurting the team more than helping...

I'll semi-agree with you. I thought she looked better at the beginning of the game, but she came back out with the sleeve on again in the second half and was back to where she started.

As to the PG role, Westbrook is a steadier player with better court vision and better passing than Hayes, who is a loose cannon at present. We'll see where Massengill fits in next year, but I hope she and Westbrook can alternate at the PG, and Hayes can get moved to the SG and work on her judgement on dribble drives and avoid the offensive fouls (one of which was really offensive today, I'm surprised Georgia didn't retaliate). Both Hayes and Westbrook need to spend a lot of time in the gym working on their outside shooting over the summer.

I said that a long time ago not only move to the two spot but also work on her offensive game. Because right now she has been a disaster on the offensive end.

Evina Westbrook will get it together in the Alabama game. We really need her the next 4 games. We must win the next 4 games and finish 2nd in the SEC. As always go Lady Vol's

Why is the 2 her best position?

Westbrook has so struggled lately, and it has really hurt the team. I think it's from a lack of confidence since the A&M game.
I strongly disagree that Hayes should play SG. Westbrook should move to SG to take some pressure off herself. Hayes should play Point, even though she's a loose cannon, we need her to develop. She can alternate with Massengill next year. Evina may need to come off the bench. I don't know. I think Rennia deserves to start, as does Mimi, and the other two are set in stone.

Why is the 2 her best position?

2 guard is her best slot because of her size and her ability to pull up and make a jumper or three point shot. She's not an elite driving threat at this point, which is why I think Hayes should play point (i do realize her limitations).
Of course they will continue to play Evina at point because she wants to be there and because she is quite a good passer if under control. Lately she has been so out of it that it has cost us many turnovers over the last few games. I think she really needs some type of confidence boost, because right now, her offensive game has really suffered. She needs to focus on either driving and pulling up for a 12 foot shot at the elbow, or make an open three.

Something definitely seems to be bothering Westbrook. Back in Nov/Dec, she was having fun, singing and laughing and some even criticized her for dancing during a timeout. Now she seldom smiles, hangs her head and looks like she's not having much fun at all. Maybe she's hurt, maybe she's lost her confidence, maybe she's hit the FR wall, maybe she's homesick or maybe she's disappointed in her season, but she's a different player. There's still a lot of season left-- I wish she could get her mojo back.

To me, the most disturbing part of Westbrook's game is her turnover to assist ratio. We got by with 27 turnovers yesterday, but in most of our loses , turnovers have played a BIG part in losing. If we are to make a stand in the SEC and NCAAs, turnovers must be reduced by half. the freshmen have played enough to cutting on them. Maybe Westbrook should let her condition improve before she hits the court again.
