What if Bob Huggins were here?

BTW - some days if I'm bored I'll argue just to argue.

No, Tennessee is more popular, although there are a lot more people than people in East TN realize who wear orange until Thanksgiving and then drag out the Memphis State blue except for a bowl game that live West of Nashville.

The only problem is that Tennessee fans become very apathetic about bball if they are not good, and even then they still can be (see Jerry Green years).

At least with the debate on Pearl and his coaching abilities (or lack thereof), at least it shows fans care again and want to have a successful program. Frustration with a team not playing to its potential is better than not caring at all
If you want to talk about apathy, check the attendance numbers for the end of Larry Finch's tenure through the Tic Price/Johnnie Jones Era.

Then he would have left two years ago when the West Virginia job opened up and left us high and dry like he did K-state.
I could probably live with being left high and dry with Michael Beasley and Bill Walker types still playing in TBA.

So Huggins has what at WVU under his belt that Pearl doesn't have?

Sweet 16
First Round Loss

Anything else?

This year I'd say both teams are similar again, with UT being deeper.

If I were answering this question literally, as in... what if Bob Huggins were really here....

I me and Huggy would go out and slam some drinks, drive drunk through the mall parking lot and go out looking for chicks.

But that's just a guess.

Huggs was so desperate for the West Virginia job that he turned it down when Gale Catlett retired.

Oh yeah, let´s not remember the mtigating circumstances at Cincy. He just had a 31-4 team and a number 1 seed in the tournament. The only reason he´s not at Cincy today was because of his legal issues. He had things rolling there, great regular season performances only to come up short in the postseason. You know, stuff you mock Pearl for, yet ride the jock of guys like Huggins because he´s part of the your coaching circle jerk.

Or, at least, he must be because you don´t have any clever nicknames for him or bother to criticize him, although I´m sure, in your mind, supposedly cheating on your wife is a much worse crime than drunk driving. I can´t imagine what crap would be given to Pearl had he been a 1 seed and lost in the second round or failed to make the tournament with Michael Beasley and Bill Walker.

Huggins never coached Beasley.

I don't know if it's true or not but I've heard, on here, that Bob Huggins would have accepted the Tennessee job when Pearl was hired.

It just makes me wonder what kind of team Tennessee would have if he were here right now?

He would have been bad. Much better off with Pearl.

The Vols would be much better in the half court. Doubt there would be as much hype about the program, but it would be a better team from a execution standpoint.

Nothing screams execution like blowing a 10-point lead with less than a minute to play.

Who won the game? Pretty sure that's better execution than getting executed by 22 against a team that lost to Nebraska and Loyola Marymount.

Or letting an awful Auburn team go on a 17-0 run against you in like 3 minutes to blow a 14 point lead.
