What is CBJ feeding these recruits?

I'm just curious...

What is Butch and Co telling these recruits to get them to commit above and beyond these other offers they are getting?

I mean, I understand the process, but they are absolutely blowing it up!

...aren't you?

He's feeding them corn.

In a jar.

I don't care if he is the pied piper playing a flute.
Just keep doing what you are doing Butch.

Was just looking at the numbers and in the one year that butch has been here he has over 50 recruits. Thats a turnover of over half the players in one year. Is this normal or something remarkable?

It's remarkable because of the turnover. The number of recruits has nothing to do with Butch. He has the quality on lockdown though.

He is selling them on the tradition of UT football and the recruits sense CBJ's love for the program. They also see the character of the coach and the confidence he instills in the players.

The character and confidence he instills is something I can see...along with his commitment to the program. This I buy.

However, all the talk about facilities and tradition, etc...is the same sandwich Dooley or any other coach would be feeding them. That's obvious. Butch is obviously doing something very unique.

Whatever it is, I like it.....A LOT!!!

It is the way recruiting should be here. We are just used to the joke that was here screwing recruiting up.

Butch simply promises them that the great sage and scribe Wes Rucker will be covering them.

Money maybe. They'll probably have an NCAA investigation soon.

I'm not sure what it is, exactly, but the players flat-out love him and the recruits love the idea of playing for him. Whatever he's selling, those kids are buying it and buying it big. There's always the same theme in every interview that comes out: "he's professional and about his business", "he cares about you like a son", "he calls us just to tell us he loves us", and my personal favorite, "we'd run through a brick wall for him".

You know, it probably should have told us something that so many of his former players at Cincy and CMU still keep in touch and visit with him regularly.

He may not have been our first choice, or even our second or third, but I think we can see now that we were blessed with the best choice.

Boy how everything changes in two weeks. Remember how this was the worst staff anywhere? I saw a post how long of a leash does Butch have. I just cant wait till we loose our first game next year and all the, these guys cant coach posts start all over again.
Guys we have the right coaches in place please just let them do their job and rebuild this program.

I was just thinking the same thing. I've been pissed multiple times this season, but never said I wanted any coach gone. We're an impatient fan base, some more than others. CBJ & staff will right this ship, we've just got to let them do what they do.

Maybe it's just having the opportunity to bring back the most storied program in the nation. We are Tn! Remember?
Nevermind, its Calhouns ribs and sweet tea.

Whatever he is selling, the lettermen are all on board. Come on baby, let the good times roll.

cbj is telling them that only a handful of players he inherited from dooley are sec quality and they would be higher on the depth chart.

Don't recall anyone two weeks ago complaining about the recruiting. In fact that was one point everyone pointed to as a positive.
