What is Cuonzo building?

Not even close man. Green is a machine. Green is a much better passer, scorer, leader, and clutch player then Maymon. Maymon is a beast rebounder, and can score inside.

I would say:

Green is better:
Clutch player
Outside shooter

Maymon is better:
Inside scorer
Rebounder

I would say they're even:
Passers
Scorers

CCM has said himself he has things he wants maymon to work on in the off season and next season he wants him to be more versatile. He went on to say, he can be a draymond green type of player. Fwiw

I think the jury is still out on what Martin is building. The quality of his recruits play will dictate most of what happens here; or certainly a large percentage. We need to see the next couple of years recruits playing before we will know whether this coach is an improvement from what we had before.

We have had success in the past six seasons. Now, we need to build on that consistently and then we really good players will begin to prefer to come here. We won't have to seek them out, they will come to us.
Duke and UNC don't necessarily have to bust down doors to get the best players. They are more than willing to go there.
Our football program started having measurable success in the 80's and then in the early 90's, Heath Shuler, Manning, Jamaal Lewis, Peerless Price, "Fat" Albert, Al Wilson, etc. became interested in U.T.
What we do now, will determine what happens with this program in 10 years. Build it brick by brick....

Draymond is closing in on Michigan State's all time rebound record. So while I love what Maymon has done I wouldn't quite declare him a better rebound.

And having spent time in Michigan before moving to Tennessee and enrolling at school on the the hill I always enjoyed watching MSU, I remember watching Draymond when he was a freshman and you could tell he would be something special. If we find our Draymond at Tennessee his number will be hanging from the rafters and be one of the most beloved players all time.

If maymon was here from the get go he'd have better tennssee career numbers.

As is, his last 2 years at Tennessee should be 2 of the more productive years from a big man.

I expect great things from maymon next year.

Did he issue a statement about the "rumor" at Missouri state like he just did today???

Yes, he said the exact same things... That he loved it here (MO State), liked where the program was headed, and hadn't talked to Mizzou.

Less than 3 days later he is in Knoxville.

Not saying he's going but you can't take his word as gold. He won't turn down a huge raise and you know he won't have to pay the $2.4 million, Illinois will for him

I seem to remember him telling Missouri state he was coming to Tennessee to interview...

Also, I see no way Illinois pays that much of a buy out for an unproven coach.

Think that refers to losses to Vandy, Memphis, AP, and MTSU. Face it, the SEC was very weak this year. I won't be surprised if UK doesn't even make it to the Final 4. Over-rated.

BTW, is 19-15 a good basketball record? I understand the "did more with less," but some around here seem to want to sign CCM to a lifetime contract after this year. Don't get it.

19-15 (10-6) with a 2nd place finish in the conference is good considering we were 8-10 at one point and started 1-4 in SEC play. He certainly deserves the excitment and support he has recieved but I agree that the reaction is a little overboard. I like him a lot but we finished strong in Dooleys first year and look at that now. I would hate to see him leave for anything but its not like he is the best up and coming coach in college basketball.
