I’m hoping 3-1. If the team gives full effort the entire game we should win the home games and Kentucky. But I keep seeing a lot of unfocused players on this team. Milton being the main one. The secondary is still a weakness linebackers too. I thought the highly recruited linebackers would be better by now. This team just doesn’t play clean and that will kill us against SEC competition.

Watching usc jr now. If we have a bad quarter defensively, like we’ve had all year, I’m afraid rattler is going to put us in a hole that may be impossible for us to climb out of

Having Mays back would help, although nobody knows if he’ll play. He seems to be a bit fragile.
Hopefully, the ones who were injured today will be able to go.
Beat SCjr and get to the bye week and I’ll be happy.
2-2

I went with blind optimism as I have no idea what will happen.
Given how our secondary has looked the entire time that Willie Matinez has been employed by our university I choose to be pessimistic.

Throw in wildly inconsistent QB play and very mediocre OL play, and I have hard time seeing us get anything above 1 win In this stretch. Very well could lose all 4 of em.

That’s just it
We could win all 4 too.
The ball bounces funny and we’re pretty good at home.

0-4. Could always be wrong. That’s what my eyes tell me. Vols are a bad football team just kindof sleepwalking through the schedule with no answers seemingly.

Yeah and I don’t understand it. Thought the team responded well today for the most part. I get it’s UTSA but we played pretty sound overall.
I run a little page with like 30k members on Facebook and let me tell ya. There have been posting almost daily calling for Heupel’s job. I’m almost amazed. I don’t understand it. Sometimes I feel like they have to just be trolls or know zero about any kind of competitive sports.

Heupel is a fine and a great coach… but this team stinks. Transition year before we have a decent QB and a more talented Defense.

Come on man, there's a slim to none chance this team is going 4-0 in this stretch. 2 wins is gonna be overachieving IMO
And there’s slim to no chance they go 0-4.
And 2 wins would be to continue to underperform. That’s becoming less of a problem as they played well most of the game tonight. That’s actually a first for this season. If that’s a trend then it’s headed in the right direction.

We will see.

There's a much better chance we go 0-4 versus 4-0. This team is no where near last years team offensively and we are arguably worse on defense.

We're better on defense and I don't think it's even debatable. Our front 4 can get pressure without blitzing. Also run defense is better

So basically where we disagree is you don’t think our guys can build off the improvement today. Where as I think it’s possible. Neither of us have any idea how it will play out.

I agree the first half was great. The second half was more of the same from Milton and the defense. UTSA was also playing without their starting QB, who if was healthy and played this game would have been a lot different I think. Their 3rd string QB scored 2 TDs on our "much improved" defense.

We can’t score enough to win more than 1 game. We get points against the scrubs by having superior athletes. That isn’t the case and we aren’t going to get a bunch of gimme scores. We execute poorly too many times for that.
Bama is a L we won’t score enough on that defense. It will be close because their offense is BAAADDD.
TAM is a loss because we can’t score enough. Their defense isnt good but the offense scores pretty well.
SCAR will give us fits. Rattler is pretty good, but their offensive line is terrible. We can get to him but not if we are playing soft zone. He has enough sense to just take the easy yards and move the sticks.
UK has had maybe the softest schedule in America. The Qb Stull turns it over. We should get this one, but it’s not a given.

We should be favored in 2 maybe 3 of these. Bama is a crapshoot and dependant on us having a great start. We don't have a qb that can win games for us, but as long as ours doesn't lose them like at Fla we have a good shot.

South Carolina- We will come ready to play. Milton and the offense will tear South Carolinas awful defense apart. We will get the run game going early and Joe Milton will have plenty of opportunities for big plays. South Carolina also seems to have pretty much no offensive line, I expect our d-line to rattle rattler pretty good. Everyone seems ready to throw in the towel for this game but I see us winning big, 52-24.
Texas A&M- A&M looked like a much better team against Auburn than they were against Miami. On defense, we will probably have a tough time. A&M is pretty good at protecting the qb, which, as we saw against Florida, will lead to their offense having time to create holes in our weak secondary. On offense, the running game will have a slow start but once we can get the passing game going we will be able to run our offense just fine. I think we trail by a touchdown at the half but in the end our offense plays well enough to come out with a win after the bye week, 48-38
Alabama- Bama looks nothing like the team they were 3 years ago. Their offensive line is probably worse than USCjr’s, and they still look lost at qb. That being said, their running game is solid and I think that will keep them in this one. How we manage our running game will be a big factor for us as well. I think this is a toss up with the game being in Tuscaloosa, but I’m going to say that we win a fairly low scoring game, 28-24.
Kentucky- Kensucky is one of only three teams in the SEC that is still undefeated through 4 games. However, they have played one of the softest non-conference schedules I have ever seen and they struggled against Vandy and Eastern Kentucky. I’m not going to go too in depth on this one because we are going to blow them out of their own stadium. 49-13.

I know there are a lot of fair weather Tennessee “fans” here that have already given up after the one loss to Florida. Y’all are probably going to disagree with me, saying we are going to lose all 4, but get a grip. The secondary has improved a lot since last season, and the offense looked like itself again against UTSA. I think it is very possible that we go 4-0 in the next 4 games, and the sec as a whole looks very weak. I’m not saying it’s going to happen, but if we can win these 4 games, who knows how far we will go.

Just take them one at a time. Our O-line will continue to improve, hopefully we get Mays back this week. We came out and played inspired early, we have to learn to not let up intensity wise. But I am glad we regrouped and got it together late in 3rd and 4th. We need to keep getting better from here. I think we bring our A game next week. We ran for over 300, I think a few less screens and a few more runs today during the lull would have helped. But except for the first 2 drives if the 3rd quarter the D played a great game game and we got a few turnovers today which is a good sign. We’re 3-1, one game at a time. Full focus is on the game chickens! GBO!
