I don’t think we’re worse on defense, but they’re missing intensity. I hope to see some this Saturday.
I disagree but Saturday will find out for sure. I definitely don't see how anyone could make a case for the secondary being better. Maybe the same as last year but definitely not better.

Linebackers with Pili could have been much improved but so far Beasley is the only one worth mentioning from that group. It really has made a difference with Pili being hurt.

DL is solid against the run, which they were last year too. I think we haven't seen enough yet from the pass rush to really know. They're gonna get a great opportunity to do something Saturday night. In fact, I think they will be what makes the difference In the game if we win. They have to have a good night and help out the secondary.

I mean #8 went 0-2 and -2 yards rushing. With two 3 and outs. C’mon.
I have no idea if he's any good. But you surely don't think he's been given a fair shot at showing what he's got being paired with the cleanup crew do you?

I do not. But what has he shown you to prove that he is any good? Some on here would say our “cleanup crew” should be better or as good as anyone on UTSA.

Take away two bad series on defense and we played about as well as we could. Offensive line particularly interior continues to be a work in progress until coop gets back.

"Take away two bad series on defense against Florida and we played about as well as we could."

You can play that game for most of our games. 2 Florida drives were 4 and 14 plays and 75 and 82 yards respectively and they were a combined 4/4 on 3rd Downs. Take those away and we win 16-15 and we give up 192 yards and a respectable 3/10 on 3rd Downs on the day.

But we *did* give up those drives and they *did* show lazy tackling, poor communication, poor intensity and overall poor playcalling.

While he was 0/2, 1 pass was a drop by Thornton.

The other incomplete was on that same drive and under pressure and was caught OOB.

He didn't look bad, IMO. He would also die behind that line against SEC opponents.

So you just going to ignore how poor the offensive line was against FL? It was more than just two bad drives on defense for the FL game....

Tough question. I’m still not sold on our offensive play calling, consistency from Joe, or the defense. I’d like to think or hope we can win the home games and at Kentucky. But wouldn’t be surprised if 1-3 is the result. I hope for the better. Go vols. Go 4-0 !
I feel like with all these games we still do not know what this team really is. We have had 3 cupcakes at home and our only SEC game was at the Swamp which was the same outcome for the last 20 something years. Just when you think Florida might be a decent team and they get ranked-- they do not play well at home vs Charlotte...
I think now the South Carolina game can possibly give us some clarity... good or bad.

Lol ok. Let’s throw your old fat ass behind the line and watch you get decleated. At least it’d be entertaining lol.

Probably so. I just don’t see how people can say he would be such an improvement when we haven’t seen enough to say one way or the other.

If they lose to USCJr it will be 1-3 or 0-4, if they win vs SC then 2-2 or 3-1, they won’t beat Bama either way, the team can’t handle high pressure road games.

I think 0-4. But my backside will be in my seat at every home game, I'll be there in Kentucky too. Oh, how I hope I'm wrong.

Maybe they learned some lessons at Gainesville. Maybe. 3-1 with a close loss in Tuscaloosa

Bama is never 'horrible'. I would say Vandy is probably horrible, but that's about it in the SEC.
Must be 18 or younger. Evidently you didn’t see the Shula Bama 26 Ws &23Ls 2003 to 2006 years, they were bad. Most of his wins were OOC & Vandy Miss State
