What is the latest on Davante Bourque?

Can I get an update? Just wondering if anything is new. Haven't been on much this weekend and was hoping someone could give me the cliff notes on Bourque. In other words , is the situation any different than it was 2 days ago?

I have been going over the past several days of camp feedback and no one had mentioned Bourque. I then read that he isn't even AT camp, and is somewhere outside of ATL and is talking with coaches and family on what he is going to do moving forward?! I don't post/comment very much, but keep up with things on a daily basis, and this totally slipped by me. Can anyone give a solid rundown on the situation?

he went home for personal issues. He has a young child back home in Louisiana and didn't adjust to Knoxville well. He may come back though.

if they do bolt, likely to not return.. longer he stays home, less likely to come back..

Coaches talking to him daily. He is still a Vol.

But that is most likely going to change.

He has good people around him at home and in the program.

But his heart is not in Knoxville.

Wish him the best.

As part of the standard recruiting speech, Coach should say:

"Listen up son, I want to shoot you straight. Lots of kids come to UT, and every year, no matter how thorough we are with our due diligence, it seems like a couple of kids get homesick, and one of them might even pack up his bags and leave. We do our best to try and weed these kids out during recruiting. So, if you sign with us and come to play ball, I want you to know we've done our best to minimize the chances that you'll be exposed to a sissy, but it's no guarantee. Sometimes a sissy slips through the cracks. That said, by and large, you'll be pleased to know that the vast majority of our players are stand up guys."

It's nice to know that I am in the company of one that has my way of thinking. I can't stand a back pedaling sissy. It's not just football, it is life. Cut the cord, and be a freaking man.

I work for the acadia parish courthouse in a very powerful department. All of the writers for the crowley post signal are real good friends with bourque's dad.
