What is the next step toward a QB?

We've offered Bridgewater. His current top 3 are UGA, UT, and Bama in that order.

Oh good, I have seen this kid play twice and he has been a star since his freshman year. He could definately start as a freshman at quarterback, receiver or DB-He is that kind of athlete and I have heard that he might leave the state. He would run circles around Jessie Scroggins and he is only a junior in HS. Ask Jose Jose and Ralph Williams about him "future vols". He is the best athlete at quarterback since Charlie Ward, Vince Young and Michael Vick.

Brunetti is not any kind of answer. The pain of Scroggins is only recruiting momentum, Rettig and Bray can be converted, I personally would rather have both of those than Scroggins. Rees too....

I think we go after Bray

I said this in the Scroggins thread, but I'm gonna repeat it here.

I'll be happy to get any decent QB commit just to shut-up the Taj Boyd talk.

Agreed, I think any Boyd posts need to be relegated to the NCAA forum. This is so far in the past now, it's ridiculous to see it brought up so much.

SDSU does have a very nice campus. My wife is an alumnus. However, noone at the school gives two craps about the football team there. They play all of their home games at Qualcomm Stadium and average about 10,000 fans per game. I just don't see him going there at all. The only reason he may is because they just hired Brady Hoke and have had some QB success recently and the kid may want to try and help build back up the program from the 90's when Marshall Faulk was there. I think we have a good shot of stealing him away if we go after him.

Here is the story.....

Tennessee head coach Lane Kiffin announced Friday that junior college All-America quarterback Nick Lamaison from Mt. San Antonio (Calif.) College has signed to play football for the Volunteers this season. The Walnut, Calif., native is expected to enroll at UT for the Fall semester and will take part in UT’s preseason drills.

The 6-1, 210-pound signal caller passed for 3,479 yards and 36 touchdowns while boasting a 166.5 efficiency rating as a freshman for the Mounties last season. With Lamaison under center, Mt. SAC finished the 2008 campaign with a 12-2 record, won the Central Conference championship, reached the state title game and was ranked second in the state of California and No. 3 nationally.

In addition to his JC Athletic Bureau First-Team All-America laurels, Lamaison also was named to the California Community College Region 3 Offensive First Team and was selected as the Region 3 Offensive Player of the Year.

Lamaison is a graduate of South Hills High School in Covina, Calif.

More details as they develop online and in Saturday's News Sentinel.

Hey San Diego Vol,
Its great to see a Cali Vol fan. Where are you located? My Aunt lives in Rancho Bernardo and cousins live in Poway.

Pretty sure it has happened before. I guess I don't know what you're basing this off of. The best quarterback in the class just signed with BYU so it happens. San Diego State is a private school with good academics and the kid is from California. I don't think he'll end up there but you have nothing to back up the statement that a 4* quarterback wouldn't go to SDST.

Private? It's a state school...

And it is nowhere near BYU.
