What is the next step toward a QB?

Our next step at QB should to get our head right with ball concerning the ones that already have the T on their helmet. If ever there was a project that needed the coaches undivided attention, its the qbs we currently have on our roster. Turn them around and I guarantee the '10 qbs will come a knockin.'

I think you mean San Diego State... he is from California so that's part of it.

Yes, Bray is from California, but not near san diego state. He's from Kingsburg High, about 20 minutes south of Fresno.

My best guess is, if he does go somewhere other than Fresno State, it'll be because there's too much competition at QB on the 'Dogs.

Derek Carr (David's higher-rated little bro) is a true freshman who graduated HS a semester early to compete for the job. Redshirt freshman Ebahn Feathers ran a 4.38 40-yard dash. And the leader in the starting race right now is junior lefty Ryan Colburn. All three are Central Valley (Green V on the back of FS helmets is for the agricultural Valley) products, as is Bray.

That said, if Bray doesn't want to have to compete with a loaded group, then I could see Kiffin with his Fresno State ties making a move.

Check it out at The Bulldog Bounce.

It didn't say the order, but I believed Bray was at the top, and that belief was confirmed when he recieved the UT offer. UT will continue to recruit Bray, Rettig, and Rees, As far as how the uncommitted QB board looks, I have no idea...

I think after the season starts, and kids start seeing improvement with current qbs it is possible that some of these qbs who had us in their top 5 could take a 2nd look and we may get some surprises. IMHO

A decommit? Somebody that is off the radar? Juco?

Is there a point were we start looking at next years class and roll with what we have for now?

1. Who's the best chance for a decommit? Brunetti? Rettig? Bray?
2. Off the radar, or over looked. Grayson?, Someone else?
3. JUCO? Newton?

Thoughts.

I think this will be the process now.

there is no need to try and speculate on who because it is jsut impossible to find who.

the plan will be to evaluate the high school seniors this fall. Doens't matter if they are committed or not. See who can play this fall.

As they go therough evaluations, they will attempt to get kids they are interested in to come on an official visit this fall.

Somewhere along the way, they will get a quarterback. Very likely, it will be a quarterback currently committed but that is not for certain. Could be someone not yet committed.

Most likely, we are only going to take one quarterback in the 2010 class. They would like to have 2 but not likely to take a QB that is not at top of the charts. They are not likely to turn two committed QBs.

I think that is where we are right now and how the process will go. Fans need to be patient. Its over 6 months to signing day. In recruiting, that is an enternity.

Lol. This is a joke right? Maybe he will not play at Fresno State because....its Fresno State. Bottom line.

Whatever happens I think we still need two QB's in this class whoever they are, and get one next year.

Cool. None of my Cali family care the least bit about football but I'll remember that. Sometimes I'm in town during football season.

evaluate the high school class this fall as they go through their seasons and then pursue the best of them. They will chase committed or uncommitted but will chase the top 5-8 performers in fall...

Larry is it possible that they take a Newton also to give three heads to battle for the 10 starting job. Also signing someone who might be more of a project for 12?
