What is the worst call you have ever seen??

I have a pretty short memory when it comes to this sort of thing, so I'm gonna have to say its a tossup between Gaffney's "catch" and the personal foul penalty on the Arkansas guy against Florida last year.

Colorado's 5th down was pretty bad too, but I vaguely remember that.

I swear, sometimes I don't see how these players keep from assaulting the officials. Even I want to jump through my TV screen and punch them.

Now if we're going for playcalls...well then it can be any Johnny Majors run up the middle against Alabama. Take your pick. There were lots of them.

Phillip Fulmers play calls

suggest you go back to 1989 - 1992 when CPF actually called plays and watch the offense he ran. He was a really good play caller as the offensive coordinator..

the OC handle play calling for him when he was head coach...

It is oft forgotten (should I say, never known?) how important Fulmer was to Johnny's best run in 25 years at UT.

I've seen the Gaffney catch so many times in slow motion, I've actually begun to believe he caught it. When you slow it down to one frame per sec, it certainly looks like he had it long enough.........

The worst call I've ever seen in CFB was the 5th down that gave Colorado the win, I believe it was over Missouri, back in 1990.

Yes. Live action calls at least have some excuse. There is no reason for officials to lose track of the down, and then there is no excuse again for officials to fail to correct their mistake.

Of all sports - Don Deckenger in the 85 World Series.

UT - Probably the Gaffney catch. Worst call to benefit UT - the personal foul fiasco at the nend of the 04 game.

The 09 Arkansas-Florida game final minutes was littered with TERRIBLE calls this fall...that late hit call on the Arkansas player was just a blatant bad call.

So what was the play call when he stabbed Johnny in the back in 92?

I remember a Michigan football game in 1999 (I can't remember who they were playing). But anyway, the other team was winning by 4 with about 2 minutes left and had the ball. They ran the ball and when the player was tackled, he was undercut and landed on his shoulder/head and the ball popped out AFTER he hit the ground. It didn't matter anyway, because he recovered the ball. But the refs awarded the ball to Michigan, and Michigan ended up winning.

So, it shouldn't have been ruled a fumble, and the guy recovered his own "fumble" anyway, yet the refs still awarded the ball to Michigan.

The Gafney catch was probably a bad call, but the reality is, Florida would have scored on one of the next two plays anyway. If we had managed to get one TD in the red zone rather than kicking field goal after field goal it wouldn't have mattered. The 06 UF game also had a rediculous roughing the passer call that negated a Jonathan Wade pick 6 that would have almost certainly sealed the win for us.

I had forgot about that. That was also a horrible call as well.

The Jemarcus Russell "no fumble" on that final drive comes to mind. I believe it was 06 or 07.

Nebraska getting screwed by Texas last year was pretty awful to watch. When have you ever seen a clock rewind?

To be fair, the horrible clock management by the officials after the Dallas Baker personal foul in 04 was one of the worst calls I have seen made. It worked out great for us, but holding the clock until the snap after the foul gave UT plenty of time to get in position for a gw fg.
