I don't remember this one real clearly but I believe it was from the 02 Bama game (when they beat us 34-14). They had the ball around our 30 or 40 yard lane. They ran the ball, the RB's knee clearly hit the ground, our defense stopped, he got up and kept running for a TD. All of Neyland boo'ed for a long time after that play. Does anyone else remember this one?

the celebration penalties in last year's LSU/UGA game.

Yeah, that was probably the most one sided call I have ever watched, and I have no doubt it was done deliberately to keep LSU in the running for the SEC championship/national title race.

The phantom fair catch during the Louisville vs UConn game. UConn punt returner waves fair catch then takes off after catching it and scores a touchdown when everyone pretty much stopped when they saw him signal. Pretty terrible. YouTube - UConn's UNFAIR catch

please. People like to ignore the fact that baker swung and missed wade first. Wade gave him a little love tap and he answered with a necksnapping stiff arm. To say that was worse than 2000 when the refs directly handed them the game is a joke.

The entire Games of 3-5 of the 2006 NBA Finals. Basically I was thinking "The NBA is rigging this so Cuban doesn't win."

I dont think anyone is disputing the personal foul call. The stoppage of the clock to give UT additional time without timeouts was what was horrible about the call.

In recent memory:

The hand to the helmet call vs LSU OR the no-call on the LSU fumble.

Both really cost us that game.

The onside kick that was touched at the end of the game. The ball clearly changed direction. I beleive it was oklahoma/oregon

I do - I was there and was going to mention this game. I think it was in the 3rd quarter - an option out of the shotgun. Croyle was the QB and his knee hit the ground just before the pitch - Beard caught the lateral and got his knee of the ground just AFTER he caught the pitch and ran for about 30 yards (both were down). We only got 3 off that posession so no real direct effect on the outcome. That's without a doubt the longest, loundest, most contstant sea of booing i've ever heard. It was loud for the rest of that possession and EVEN louder during the next 2 timeouts.

First off, Gaffney did not catch the ball. Secondly, that play happened on 2nd down if I'm not mistaken, and you could argue the illegal formation call on Caldwell's TD catch a few plays before was easily as bogus. That said, it bears repeating Gaffney did not have possession. Bad call.

The 2004 game had the mysterious clock stoppage before the incident between Wade and Baker. At the end of the day Zook was going to find a way to lose that game....he just got a little help. Bad call on Baker and a little home cooking with the clock.

Those two games cancel each other out imo.

I was sitting square in front of that play. His elbow and forearm clearly hit the ground, which by rule, is down.

Of course the Gaffney catch but also the pass interference call against Miami in the title game against OSU was horrible.

I think Fulmer directly handed them that game by kicking something like 5 red zone field goals, couple of which came when the offense was inside the 2 or 3 yard line. Just one touchdown out of all those opportunities would have rendered the Gafney catch meaningless.
