What is ultimately at stake tomorrow

in 1000 Years; no one will remember Trump or Harris, Democrat or Republican, LBGQT rights, tariffs, government funded healthcare, or cultural Hot button issues.
For the future of humanity; what really matters is that Elon is in effect on the ballot. Due to his polarizing positions in the past year; the outcome of tomorrow determines his future and the future of his company SpaceX. What we decide tomorrow is; do we remain trapped on earth, or does humanity colonize the stars? If Trump wins, there will be cities on Mars within 20 years. If Harris wins; we probably don’t go to Mars for a century; just to spitefully punish Musk.
This is the historical pivot point equivalent to Ferdinand and Isabella deciding whether or not to allow Columbus to take three ships and sail Westward into the unknown.
Tomorrow we vote on the future of humanity. It may not matter to you; but it matters a whole heck of a lot to the future.

Good grief. I couldn't care less about SpaceX. If Elon is willing to be a government hatchet man, then I welcome his assistance there. I don't care about his businesses.

When OP sits down for his morning piss, he practices reciting Elon's Wikipedia bio from memory. It's pretty funny.

I've been doing great for 8 years.

It has.... its has been steadily going down for the last 30+ years.

Each his own.

If we had built off of the Apollo missions instead of abandoning exploration there isn't a reason we couldn't have had a colony on Mars by the mid-late 90's.
I don't think so. The difference between the moon and Mars is (pardon the pun) astronomical. I don't think we will have colonies in 20 years, but then again I don't think there is any reason to go there.... yet.

The way people act like fangirls for Elon is so insane. Same person who keeps saying “if Kamala wins I’m getting arrested” as if Democrats aren’t in power right now. Same one who said Twitter “must be politically neutral” when it’s now a giant Trump ad

We absolutely need to be colonizing Mars and spreading throughout the galaxy. That's the only way humanity will survive extinction.

Also the same person who “offered 1M to voters” and is currently arguing in court that it’s not illegal because the winners were pre-selected i.e. it was a scam, yes that guy is definitely your savior

Yep. I think we should have never abandoned the Saturn V for the Space Shuttle. There was a big push by NASA for re-usability though at the time to help cut down costs. However, the space shuttle refurbishment process after each launch ended up costing much more than they had anticipated.

On a per pound payload basis, the Saturn V would have been cheaper to continue to operate than developing the space shuttle. It was safer, and had substantially higher payload capacity (311,112 lb vs 65,000 lb).

The shuttle was a complete abandonment of exploration and a shift towards surveillance and communication. We should have built a working space station where we could launch deep space missions from, overcome the gravity/weight problem.

I have never understood the infatuation with colonizing outside our planet. The juice isnt worth the monumental squeeze (which I think a lot of people do not appropriately understand the complexity of such a task).

Also, with current birth rates quickly dropping, 100 years from now the world's population will likely either be stagnant or beginning to increasingly decline.

“What’s the obsession of all this stuff I’m making up based on one word” lol
You are emotionally all over the map and go to great lengths to express it.... I notice.

Just because someone doesn't vote the way you want doesn't mean they are in a cult or if someone you don't like gets a comment doesn't mean he is someone's savior.

Musk is kind of like Trump to me, I didn't care for either one... but they are much easier to like now.

If we don't get off this planet the human race will go extinct.
