What other message boards are saying (Alabama pre game)

My concern with Nico stems more from a recent history of California QB’s being overrated and not translating to CFB as well as others. So I'm generalizing and lumping him in with a host of QB’s. I don’t see California HS football being what it once was; GA has replaced Cali in the top 3 for talent IMO. What the south has done better than any other region is spit out big and athletic DL; exactly what he’s facing now and the game looks too fast today.
Having watched Peyton’s debut season in person (not saying Nico is Peyton).. there were some head scratchers at first, but he learned and got better, more confident 😂 Nico is our guy and we are going to have to be patient 😂 I know, foreign concept on here 😂

This proves that every fan base watches their own team, more critically than others. Look at their posts showing fear of Tennessee and what potentially Nico could do to them.

Heupel is smart not to place the team on Nico's shoulders before he is ready.
Flip side, he is going to have to place more on his shoulders with better protection. We have not established a passing attack against any SEC opponent so far.
We have to establish the passing game in order to pound the rock. We are pounding the rock on 3rd and long, and the sad part is every defender and opposing coach, fan in the stadium, and viewer at home sees it coming.

DJ Lagway is younger and looked better last night. We see other young QBs growing up faster or that have grown up faster. I have a feeling that Nico has attitude and skills to turn it around and win but it looks like it may not be this year and he is definitely not Bryce Young 2.0 that people have made him out to be.

Seems he needs to worry less about selling Leis, and more about playing football

Vols will need 100 yards rushing and 250 yds passing to win. They also can’t turn the ball over … or it’s over. Tight game if the Vols offense comes back to life. If not, defense gets tired and Bama runs away with it.

Gonna have to drag Bama down to a ugly game i think to have a chance to win

Lot of delusion too. They may win if our offense doesn’t figure something out but Milroe isn’t having a career day against our defense 💀
Not so sure about that. Granted our DL is stout, but I'm not completely sold on our LB corp without Pili, and I shudder at the thought of some of our secondary personnel trying to take down Milton. Having said that, I suspect he'll pad his passing numbers against our secondary so his legs might turn out to be the least of our worries. Tide takes this one 38-20.

I haven’t given up on him, but he’s making costly mistakes too often right now. Heupel needs to decide what kind of offense he wants to run and gameplan around it. The run game and defense is what’s gonna get this team to the playoff, it is what it is. We just need Nico to take care of the football, that’s it.
Maybe the best bet is to start out playing 12 personnel? Florida ate our lunch when they played 3 tight ends.

I'm not sure what Tennessee has done to make the Bama fans that are worried be as worried as they are...but I do know what Tennessee hasn't done that should make the overzealous Bama fans worry more.

To date...we haven't lost to Vanderbilt.

It's amazing how quickly yall have given up on Nico. He's a young player going through a slight slump. His talent hasn't depreciated. Just realize this is the worst he'll ever look.

Nico will play his best game thus far next Saturday as the offense explodes and runs Alabama out of the stadium.
I agree that hopefully this is the bad of Nico. Time will tell. Certainly has the arm talent, so does big Joe. Joe had 5 years, this is Nico’s 2nd year,

It just seems like either Nico or the OC or both are not happy with a 3-4 yard pass unless it’s a long screen go the sideline, why can’t we incorporate a short pass to the TE while Nico is rolling out? Option to run or throw? No slant, 5-6 yard curl in the playbook ?

Man you have not watched our defense this year bud lmao our other two main LBs Carter and Tealander are very good. Our CBs are very good. Granted the one worth is saftey, maybe they expose that some but not to a “career day”. Milroe is also trash the past two games under pressure, which we will generate.

In what way did Lagway look better? He threw exactly one good pass to a wide open WR. Ran for a total of 15 yards. Had a bad int (just like Nico). Nico had 30 yards of scrambles called back due to holds and an OL that looked more like traffic cones than competent blockers. He made multiple throws that were in very tight windows. Not many QBs, including Lagway could make the throw he made to Brazzell.
