Saban is correct in ALMOST all of his gripes. The playoffs isn't about the best 4 teams, it's about the 4 most deserving teams, and that probably needs to be fixed. TCU doesn't belong in the playoffs, they are going to get waxed, but they deserve it. The 2nd best team in the brutal conference that is the SEC at 10-2 should be in the playoffs.

And that team.... is Tennessee.

Yep, an argument could actually be made for Tennessee getting in, not Bama, but I am glad we are not raising a bruhaha about it, let Bama do it and look like fools

Can’t believe this is still a topic. The committee has never put a 2 loss non champion in the playoff and they weren’t doing it this time. All the one loss teams got in. Simple as that. Contrary to the line of that Little Nicky was trying to sell, they don’t pick teams by arbitrary point spreads and who would be favored over who.

Here's a weird concept: win more football games. The four teams that are in are the four teams in the power 5 that either went undefeated or lost a single game. The committee didn't exactly have a hard job this year.

This does beg the question after watching three of these teams having muffin schedules. If we aren’t giving a sh!t about strength of schedule anymore then why not load our ooc schedule with easy wins. Seems to work for them. We are going to have to go through bama and Georgia and lsu all in conference. This already pretty much guarantees unless we play lights out we will not have another opportunity like the one we threw away this year.

Check out next year’s schedule. Someone got the memo.

Comparison to other SEC team’s schedules, it does usually seem like there was crack cocaine involved in making UTs schedules, especially since 2000 plus… Why make it so freaking hard? I think that was the formula in 98.. but like a lot of other things, that is no longer the case

They fixed it for next year. 4-0 virtually guaranteed for a out of conference record. And I have no issue at all with that schedule.

I would normally pull for SEC teams outside or TN during bowl games but I hope everyone but TN loses, especially Bama and S Carolina. I expect Bama to be flat in that game. Some players will sit out and K State will be more motivated to take on Bama.

Agree with OP…The committee not dropping a team because they played in a conf championship tourney and loss is new to me. How many times over the years did the conf champ tourney hurt other teams especially
