What Other Message Boards Are Saying (Kentucky Edition)

Hey, I tried. UT-Martin doesn't have a message board though at all. So, I'll grace everyone with an early Kentucky Edition.

From CatsIllustrated
-First of all UT has played and beaten no one. People tried to hype their OT win over Pitt as more than it was. Then they tried to hype the win over a last second win against Florida. Then they hyped a win over a HORRIBLE LSU team. Now they're over the moon about the worst Alabama team in Saban's tenure.

-On the road and with the OL we have I just don’t see it. But if Kentucky wins I’d say they probably move up to #8. Sure hope it happens as I live in Knoxville and you’d think they just won the national title. They are selling shirts commemorating a regular season win lol

-We would move up to #1 if we beat Tennessee, because according to all of the Vol Fans, they are #1 in the country. Fools.

-We've had a better year 5 straight seasons, theyre finally going to edge us this season. Sorry.

-Bama and Yew Tee did us a favor, they gave us an opportunity to make history in Knoxville.

-Their fans were already insufferable when they were losing ... now it is even worse. Especially here in Nashville, where it seems like everyone is wearing orange now (it definitely hasn't been like that the past decade).

-No pressure for Kentucky. Control possession. Don’t worry about style points. #19 beating #3 isn’t that crazy

-It’s Tennessee. They’re inferior humans to us. Literally underneath us in society and on a map

-Just the thought of a UK team coming into Knoxville and beating them has those trailer living folks having nightmares. They have 2 weeks to worry.

-They know we will be prepared and healthy and a trap game with #1 Georgia between the hedges looming as well. All the ingredients are there folks. Big win over Bama and a CC to keep that Big Orange head large….you see it, I see it, the Vols fans see it

-You play Tennessee just like you played Mississippi. They do the same ****. Play a play every 10- 15 seconds. Playing Mississippi at Mississippi was a huge advantage for us cuz we know what's coming. We'll be ready for them. Going to control the clock and we're going to run that ball down there throat. And then they can go home listening to that Rocky top song that actual Kentucky man wrote lol. Play our song Tennessee.

-Hooker hits a lot of big plays, force him to dink and dunk, I know that defense is frustrating but that is Kentuckys best shot, along with rodriguez controlling the clock

-Can’t prepare for that home whistle no matter what you do. The calls they got against Bama, especially in the 4th quarter, was disgusting.

-Tennessee is on another level offensively. I hope our D can keep us in the game.

-Wow. Let’s be realistic here, we are going to be 20 point underdogs to UT.

-Tennessee doesn't have more talent than us. FACT. PICK UP THE RECRUITING RANKINGS THE LAST 4 YEARS AND TAKE A LOOK.

-The refs played a role in last years game here with obvious facemask not being called and then throwing a flag on coach for arguing about it. It was beyond pitiful. Let's hope those home whistles aren't blowing.

-Let's be real here. Our chances of beating UT aren't great. We need a dam near perfect game if we are to win. Good news is we haven't played close to a perfect game yet, so we are do. But sadly it's gonna take something special to take them out. They are flat out good and makes me sick to say that, but facts are facts.

-At the very least Kentucky should be 6-1. The Tennessee game is exactly like the Louisville game the year Lamar Jackson won the Heisman, Kentucky should go into calm and loose and see what happens

-Speed. That’s all you need to know. And that’s how they win. If you can’t match that speed, you have no chance. None. Nada. Never happen. You can’t turn speed on and off or use it every other or every third play. They use it on every play on offense. Their secondary gets away with a lot of holding, grabbing, physical play. I guess they can’t call it all the time. Being a realist here, this one had loss on it the day the schedule came out. It’s a game you play, hope you don’t get any injuries, then you move on.

-UK defense is a good better than Bama. UT is tremendous offense for sure, best in SEC, but Bama never adjusting to covering the slot WR was rather terrible scheme was it not?

-UK knows the formula to win this game. Control the clock and limit possessions.

-Brad White and the defense remember last year. Revenge is best served on a Saturday night in October in your opponent's stadium. I don't expect them to say much before the game. I expect they will say alot during the game.

-UK is better at receiver than Alabama and they will get open. When the safeties come up to stop CRod, the TEs will run the seam

-They hadn't beaten Bama in forever. They played their best game of the year. It could have been their max performance. Teams don't always get better.

-TN could very easily have 3 losses. They beat a really bad Pitt team in OT after the Pitt QB was hurt, they gave up 500+ yards of total offense to an ordinary UF QB and gave up 600+ yards, and a great benefactor, of 17, that's SEVENTEEN penalties vs Bama. Whose ass does UK have to kiss to have 17 penalties called on an opponent? TN's O is good, their D will cost them somewhere, sometime.

-Question for those who remember 1998. Were UT fans this bad in 98?

-UT is the same as Lincoln Riley Oklahoma teams. Can put up points to beat ppl and be a top 5 team, but when they run into a team that can score pretty well but has a good defense and can atleast hamper their scoring they may be in trouble, bc they can't stop anyone scoring.

-The crew who officiated the Tennessee Bama game was the same as the one in Alabama's regular season loss in 2021 to Texas A&M and, more importantly, the one in the 2020 Arkansas @ Auburn game where they handed the game to Auburn and were subsequently suspended. That crew will probably be at Kentucky Tennessee. We're screwed.

-The best wide receiver in college football, Cedric Tillman, did not play in any one of those games. He will be back for us. That ladies and gentlemen , poses an absolute nightmare for anyone with his return.

Doesn't UT Martin have any message boards?

The biggest factor in this game for us is their O line, in my opinion. They have given up an SEC worst 26 sacks this season. Their O line has been worse than LSU's which has "only" given up 22 sacks. Our pass rush should be a major mismatch for them.
My dearest hope is that we once again make Will Levis weep on national television.

Do they have a forum for grown ups too? Or just silly children with terrible grammar?

The 247 talent composite has us with 2 5 stars and 24 4 stars. They have no 5 stars, and 26 4 stars, so talent wise we are pretty close. The problem for them is both our offensive and defensive lines have been playing much better than theirs. If we can pressure Levis and slow thier run, we should win

(Some) Kentucky fans in Lexington are next level obnoxious, especially when they have convinced themselves they are due a victory.

My fondest memory of Lexington was 2009, Lane’s first and only year. The turmoil had just started on the Hill. It was a very cold night. (Some) Kentucky fans were rowdy and drunk, certain of a victory that year. Can you imagine a 20+ year drought?

They almost pulled it off. Crompton started the game by throwing an early pick 6. A late 4Q Kentucky FG sent the game into OT. However, Monterio was having none of it and put the nails in the coffin in OT. Hardesty’s performance was one of the few bright spots of that game.

Kentucky fans were a mix of angry, depressed, and resigned to little brother status. We got an earful leaving the stadium.

That's one of the things I can't figure out about their main board... some of the posters... are they really that childish and cringey or is it a troll job/joke?

People always talk about Florida and Bama fans being awful. Man they ain’t anywhere close the Georgia and Kentucky fans. I absolutely hate Kentucky fans. They have no clue. Although it does worry me a little that they held Mississippi state in check. They tried to play the Time of Possesion mess against us last year. It’s didn’t work. They were supposedly better on defense last year than this year. Just hope we play our game and take em to the woodshed.

My then 9 year old son and I went to that game with some of my UK family…sat in the season ticket section. We were not well received. One drunk broad cussed my kid because of his celebration at the end of the game. I thought my cousin (UK fan) was going to punch her husbands lights out.

Great fun.

The comparisons simply are not accurate. Ole Miss and Miss State are largely one dimensional. Ole Miss leads the SEC in rushing yards but is 8th in passing. Miss State leads the SEC in passing but is last in rushing. Incredibly one dimensional offenses that have largely benefited from avoiding the more difficult teams in conference primarily and playing relatively weaker schedules, especially Ole Miss.

Meanwhile, Tennessee is 3rd in passing yards and 6th in rushing yards. A more balanced attack for sure.

Am I remembering right that it was a night game and super cold by the time the game was over?

Also, I believe this was they year after UK had only made the NIT. And I really riled up the UK fans after their loss by telling them basketball season is almost here. Hope you guys win it all in the NIT this year. 🤣

Do you recall the talk this time last week? "UT has a great O but they've never seen a defense like Alabama". Those folks were right. Bama was the leader in almost every SEC defensive category. DL widely thought of as the best player in CFB. A pass D giving up 167 ypg. Run D giving up 85 ypg at well under 3 ypc. Overall their D was allowing an astounding 3.77 yds/play.

But some of us responded, Bama hasn't played an O like UT's either. UT posted 385 yds passing to go with 182 yds rushing. The Vols more than doubled both their total yds allowed and yds/play.

In UK, you have a team that has played a WEAKER schedule than Bama had... and is statistically not as good.

So I see your 26 4* and raise you the 14 5* and 59 4* that UT just went toe to toe with and won. UK is not as talented on either side of the ball as Bama. They're not better coached. They can't protect the passer. Their QB is nowhere near as mobile as BY. They can only run when Rodriguez makes his own holes.

On the other side, they don't do a good job of rushing the passer. They haven't seen anything close to UT's O either running the ball or throwing it.

UT is better than UK in pretty much every respect. If UT loses... they will likely have beaten themselves. That's possible. We all hope it isn't likely.

We had the ball for 13:52 against Kentucky last season in their stadium and scored 45 points.

That's true but we don't want to repeat that time of possesion and have the game come down to few plays at the end like last year. Hopefully our run defense can stop their running game this year but it won't be easy - their RB is very good. I think we shold let them make some plays throwing and live with results (everyone else does against us), but we can't have them keep the ball as much as last year if we want to win comfortably.

the key is to make their first pick of the draft eat a lot of tasty Neyland sod.

And you can't say that UT hasn't had good, competitive opponents.

The combined records of the teams UK has beaten is under 50%. UT has beaten Ball St 4-3, Pitt 4-2, Akron 1-6, UF 4-3, LSU 5-2, and Bama 6-1. Five out of 6 opponents have a winning record. Even with Akron skewing things, the combined record of UT's opponents is 24-17.

The Cats have looked "good", not great, while playing almost exclusively chumps.

Yep…as usual Piggly Wiggly field was the coldest place in the Northern Hemisphere that night.

I have a few Kentucky fans around me, including my next door neighbor.

My opinion is you want them as confident as possible. If they say they think they’re going to win the game, tell them that you agree they should. Give high praise to their two decent players. Tell them that you would not be surprised to see such a complete team come out of Knoxville with a win.

It makes the meltdown and the tears sweeter.
Exactly! After the SC loss, Kentucky was ready for basketball. Apparently, they’re now superior to Bama because they beat Miss St. Now is the time to crush their delusional souls.

If I was a psychologist or psychiatrist, I would move to Kentucky and make a fortune off their mood swings and delusion.
