What Other Message Boards Are Saying (Mizzou Edition)

Missouri has enough to make the game interesting but not enough to beat us unless we lay a major egg.

Their fans are always really humble and appreciative to be in SEC but man did they whine about that roughing the punter which was a very legitimate call.

I dont think it will be as bad as the Mizzou fans think it will be. Their defense has been stout all year and Georgia gave them a nice blueprint for what could slow our offense down.

In the end though we are at home and Mizzou doesn't have a Keelee Ringo or the horses to play tic for tat with us.

I wouldn't take the 18.5 points though. See it more like 31-17 Vols

They had a 7 percent chance before the Georgia game. It’s less now
Wouldn't sleep on either Mizzou or SC. Not so miuch because they're super talented, but you have to wonder about our psyche. It's kinda like Tyson vs Douglas. Tyson was an unstoppable force in both his mind and in the mind of his opponents. Once he was proven human and beatable, it was all over. Tyson knew he could fall and his opponents knew it, too. As this is a different sport entirely and you are dealing with numerous individuals including coaches, but you have to wonder how we'll respond especially on the road at SC. I'm sure the fans Saturday will energize this team and help push them to a win, but what will we do on the road in a hostile environment again? I can see us steam rolling to the finish line and I can also see us limp to the finish with another L on the record. Honestly, I have no idea how this team and will respond.

Mizzou will come in with their hair on fire so we will need to make an example out of them.

They play great defense for the first half and their pass rush could rattle HH.

Destroying Mizzou while the mutts struggled to beat them might be "recognized" by the CFB PO Committee. I'll take

any scenerio in our favor and it certainly won't hurt us. We need to show out.

The only teams I’d give a punchers chance of beating us in Neyland would be Georgia and Ohio State. So that should tell you what I think Missouri’s odds are.
Michigan has looked better than OSU to this point, honestly, although they don’t match up well against our defense with their reliance on the run.

Not a ton here, but I grabbed what I could access

-Can we beat Tennessee?

-In reply to above question: We can't even punt with consistency, we can't beat Tennessee.

-Tennessee will beat us by 24 plus. I am glad this season is almost over.

-I keep telling myself 3 more weeks, 3 more weeks.

-It's going to get ugly in Neyland. My advice: Please plan something else for the day to save your sanity.

-The good news is we can all watch good football the rest of the day after this butt whipping at noon.

-We get to watch our newly extended coach continue to have no clue what he is doing.

-I will forever hate Georgia for sending Tennessee on a mission nobody can stop for the rest of the season.

-I am not sure if anyone saw the look in Hooker's eyes in his press conference after the UGA loss. We're all screwed.

-Tennessee will score 40 points before the half.

-Tennessee is about to be hell unleashed for the rest of the season. I hope we're all ready.

-Tennessee is favored by 18.5. Take the points and The Vols and if you wanna make some serious money.

-According to the computer model, we have a 7 percent chance to win this game. That is correct.

-Tennessee is going to roll everyone the rest of the season and play for a natty and win that too.

-If you thought last year was bad we haven't seen anything yet.

-Tennessee is going to be able to do whatever they want Saturday.

-I wanna believe we have a chance in every game but it's not happening Saturday.

-UT names the score Saturday.

This is why I like sports people who root for mostly bad teams. They are much more grounded in reality generally. Hooker is going to go get his Heisman over these next three.

thanks for link. HH really impresses me not only on the field, but his maturity and all around person.
He looks like a coach at the podium talking!

Well, to be fair, he is 37 years old. Thanks 2 COVID insanity. Ya know HH is probably the only + that came out of all that, now that I think @ it.

idk I’m going to say it again.. Georgia is good, but that game seemed super off.. that wasn’t the Tennessee team that has been playing before and we had almost everyone back healthy..it was weird

I watched most of it. Miss played really aggressively and we're on fire. But, while it was happening, I was thinking that it looked like one of those fantasies where every call you make is the perfect one. Almost like they knew the UGA play calls before every snap.
But those last 2 drives brought reality to roost. GA just steam rolled them to pull away. Physically it was like a varsity and a JV out there. UGAs athletes are just unreal. Just like we saw Sat.

"According to the computer model, we have a 7 percent chance to win this game. That is correct. "

For some reason that one in particular made me laugh into my coffee cup.

That % crap is just flat funny to begin with. Nobody EVER goes back to verify this trash science after the games. It's all sports journo hype to create buzz and capitalize off it.
But 7% IS dang funny the way he said it.

Weel, I just gained a little respect for UM fans. They are calling it like they see it.

I lived in MO for several years. First of all, outside of St. Louis enjoyed living there, mostly good down to earth people. But, they do not live and breath college football like most southern states do, or especially other SEC schools.

My grand daughter and her husband graduated at University MO and went to all the football games, and are big fans now. But it is not a way of life like us “TN Hillbillies” She was at my home one night while I listened to Vol calls and she said “I think PaPa has lost it!” Her husband said “that right there is good entertainment.“

So realistically they could watch the Tigers get the moral victory of playing in a close game vs a great Volunteers team even though most likely the 2nd half or 2nd Quarter could still realistically be when the Volunteers make the game an embarrassment.
