What Other Message Boards Are Saying (Mizzou Edition)

The fact that they don't think they have a chance scares me a bit. Seems like a setup for us to overlook them. And as pointed out by others, they haven't given up a ton of points this year. Hope the team makes me looks silly and we win by 50, but put me down as a bit worried about this one.

Do you really think our team is going to overlook Mizzou after that Georgia Performance? If so I have ocean front property in Oak Ridge for you.

Their board makes me want to take a nap.

Mrs. Rifleman once heard some Vandy fans meekly, brokenly discussing their football plight by the water cooler at a work party. That night she quipped that a Vandy football talk show could be done as an ASMR channel and I haven't stopped laughing about it yet.

Host (Whispering): So, coach, when do you think we'll win an SEC game again?
Coach: Very long, very slow exhale.
Host (Whispering into a feather): Well that's all the time we have. Anchor dooooooowwwwwwn!

Did I use the word "overlook" anywhere in my post? You have an active imagination I guess.

I am worried about them whether we overlook them or not. They have not lost to any SEC team, including UGA by more than a single score. They are quite dangerous.

I lived in MO for several years. First of all, outside of St. Louis enjoyed living there, mostly good down to earth people. But, they do not live and breath college football like most southern states do, or especially other SEC schools.

My grand daughter and her husband graduated at University MO and went to all the football games, and are big fans now. But it is not a way of life like us “TN Hillbillies” She was at my home one night while I listened to Vol calls and she said “I think PaPa has lost it!” Her husband said “that right there is good entertainment.“

Ha! Thanks for sharing. I approve this message!

Georgia slept walked through that game. Tennessee wont.

The one thing of concern for me is that Tillman's return has not been incorporated into the Offense's Scheme. I am sure that CJH will do so but this was a shortfall in the GA Game for me since he has return even with minimum participation in the KY Game.
No one should be able to Man Up against our WRs on the field and win.
The LOS and OL will need to be corrected before this game as well.

Mizzou defense is very well coached, imo. Their DC and staff will study what UGA did and try to duplicate it. However, they do not have the horses UGA does.

I just hope the Vols aren't overlooking Mizzou

Tillman had the most receptions and most yards. Not sure what you mean by him not being incorporated.

Yeah, I was thinking other way 'round. It seems like Hyatt got unincorporated to some degree.

Tillman: 7 rec, 68 yards
Hyatt: 6 rec, 63 yards
McCoy: 6 rec, 38 yards

Georgia didn't miss tackles. Pretty even distribution besides the number of yards.
Good points. We have been able to scheme wide open receivers and GA seem to know our routes as well as we did plus the man-up. Yes we had two occasions of overthrows and an interception. We were force into a short passing game and GA managed to keep all of the WRs in front them. I think we will beat them the next time around but only if we control the LOS as they lived with HH in the backfield.

One other thing is you would have expected at least one TD pass reception

Not sure we were expecting this kind of effort out of GA and we were not prepared.

To me GA shut down all 3 WRs which should not have happened.

I obviously live in MO per my board name. My kids all graduated from UoM but none are really Mizzou fans. One of my son-in-laws is an avid fan but that is understandable as his father played BB for Norm Stewart/Mizzou in the late Sixties. I am also surrounded by neighbors all of whom are Mizzou grads. About 16 of us were at the game in Columbia last year for the beat down of the Tigers. I tried to get the same group to join me on a road trip to Neyland for this Saturdays game but none of them had the stomach for it. Mizzou fans tend to be realists. They all expect to lose on Saturday and most are just hoping that they can hold us below 40. After our loss at GA they are afraid we will be looking to make a statement to the playoff committee. Having said that we WILL be facing a decent defense on Saturday. Their problems are all on the offensive side of the ball. QB issues and horrible play calling. We should win but I doubt we will score 50. Probably more like 38-10.
