I have said this before in a previous thread, but I feel like it fits here.
Last year, this was my then fiancé-now wife’s first football game in person. We will live about an hour from Williams-Brice. Me, her, my mom, my dad, and my younger sister went.
At the restaurant in Columbia, somebody cussed at my wife while she was in line for the ladies room, simply because she was dressed in orange.
On our way into the stadium, someone tried to get into a fight with my dad.
Surrounded by gamecock fans the whole game. The longer it went on, the more hostile it felt to be there. We left at the end of the third quarter, and the gamecock fans were crowing at us as we left.
My wife and I will be at the game Saturday. I want this win bad. I live down here in South Carolina….this game last year put a bad taste in my mouth. I don’t want to just win. I want to make them give up. As a matter of fact, if we could beat them so bad that they just throw in the towel and their whole team starts walking to the locker room, that would be fine by me. Point is, I want this win bad. My wife and I will be there, and we will be loud. I hope my Vol-Brethren will do the same.
And that concludes my ramblings. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
