What other message boards are saying (South Carolina Edition)

I have said this before in a previous thread, but I feel like it fits here.

Last year, this was my then fiancé-now wife’s first football game in person. We will live about an hour from Williams-Brice. Me, her, my mom, my dad, and my younger sister went.

At the restaurant in Columbia, somebody cussed at my wife while she was in line for the ladies room, simply because she was dressed in orange.

On our way into the stadium, someone tried to get into a fight with my dad.

Surrounded by gamecock fans the whole game. The longer it went on, the more hostile it felt to be there. We left at the end of the third quarter, and the gamecock fans were crowing at us as we left.

My wife and I will be at the game Saturday. I want this win bad. I live down here in South Carolina….this game last year put a bad taste in my mouth. I don’t want to just win. I want to make them give up. As a matter of fact, if we could beat them so bad that they just throw in the towel and their whole team starts walking to the locker room, that would be fine by me. Point is, I want this win bad. My wife and I will be there, and we will be loud. I hope my Vol-Brethren will do the same.

And that concludes my ramblings. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

Benched him? I was on my way to beat him up for all the Tennessee greats, could you imagine Eric Berry trying to tackle like that?

Well on my way down to the field, I saw him square up on the O-lineman and looks like in fact he does have some hands!

Then I remembered all I needed was a football and he would put his hands away.... WIN!

All joking aside, I hope the Hadden and the vols have a great game and blow out the chickens. I will be there with friends and family cheering them on to a victory.
Go Vols!
When berry tackles with his shoulder, the player goes to the sideline for at least the next few plays lol. I miss that guy on this team. First time I saw him play in person I was in 8th grade and my brother was a freshman on our high school football team. We were undefeated going in and creekside beat us 32-0. He scored every point. Epitome of generational talent.

Be specific and cite plays that prove Hadden has made those kinds of mistakes. I've said elsewhere that I would have benched him for that poor tackle vs UF. But in coverage he's done more good than bad. He needs to be put in a position to succeed. He is athletic and a "high risk" sort of guy. You need to give him a chance to play "free" and aggressive. He's not your guy for playing back
Doesn’t he get 2-3 PIs per game?

Nope. And I have watched a lot of SEC games this fall already. I have seen guys repeatedly do what he did on those two plays and not get called. In fact, one of their DBs did it in the end zone in the same game... and I believe in front of the same official and wasn't called.

I have no vested interest in Hadden. He's an athletic guy who does stupid stuff more often than I would like. I just don't like exaggerations and unfounded blanket condemnations. He's a Sr with no eligibility left. So if Gibson or Matthews or one of the other guys can get up to speed and take his place... I'll honestly feel better. Just be fair with the guy. If you don't have a specific reason don't undercut a Vol.

You are such a soft and feeble person. Grow a pair. South Carolina has the worst defense in the conference. We’re not losing by 22 points at home to Shane Beamer. I’m starting to think you haven’t actually watched a single South Carolina game this year.
I’ve watched them against UGA and MSU. Their offensive line is suspect but Rattler is elite, much better than Mertz .

I don’t follow. Their YPG and PPG given up would be expected to be higher given they played better opponents with better talent. Had they played a schedule like ours and given up their same numbers then we’d expect that their defense is trash compared to ours.
Just that. In spite of their wishes otherwise, they were handled by those two teams. UT actually outgained UF. USCe had 80 less yds than UNC and 150 less than UGA. They weren't competitive although their fans apparently think they were.

Their D isn't good. Their OL is flat bad... worse than UT's in spite of the issues we know the Vols have.

I hope your right but A.P. VA and Florida are not as good as N.C. and GA. Maybe we don't know how bad our O line can be?

You know they make ice molds, in that shape, that you could make jello in. Then they'd me sticky too.

Not that I'd condone such a thing.
Now you’re thinking outside the box. I’m here for it. Might be harder to get through security though.
