What Other Message Boards Are Saying: Vandy Edition

Sewanee's 1899 football team. Google it. Pretty impressive. They still did not have a season where they went unscored upon, but still an impressive feat.

Oh gotcha. He didn't reference the Sewanee post so I didn't understand.

Someone explain to me how they were more impressive than Neyland's teams who went 2 seasons without being scored on.

Franklin said in his press conference that it's not a rivalry yet. As a Vandy fan I respect what coach said and he's right. AS far as how I feel, I would trade every win and bowl game to beat the Vols every year. Obviously that's not going to happen but I'm very happy with where the program is. If Vandy has hit it's ceiling at 8 or 9 wins I can live with that.
And this is what separates the Vanderbilts from the Tennessees in college football.

The school that gives handfuls of tickets to a home game t(hat will make the team bowl eligible) if you buy a scarf or fill up with gas, thinks they will travel well. Glorious!

Vandy's fans can be very intelligent.

If you look at the top 100 things they have much knowledge in, the list would look like this:

1. Math
2. Science
3. English

(then further down the line)

99. Football
100. How to talk to women

I LOL'd. A lot. My coworkers were concerned.

Honestly i dont pay much attention to them one bit....complete waste of time if you do IMO.
We've ran through the gauntlet in october so were prepped and ready to face lesser, and i do mean lesser competition......so lets sit back, relax and watch butch n co. do their thing vs an instate rival.....
GBO

I ran into a Vandy fan the other day sporting his Vandy Shirt and hat and had to give a big ole', "GO VOLS"!! The reaction and look on his face was priceless. You would have thought I just ran over his dog as he yelled, "Franklin will whip your azz again this year. f*** UT!" All I could do was laugh. They truly are a bunch who have no idea how to handle a tiny bit of success.

The "tiny bit of success" UT had this year was beating SC. Other than that the entire year was a fail.

A fail? How so?

We've won every game we should've plus we beat South Carolina. Auburn and Mizzou are way better than they got credit for at the beginning of the year. We have a chance to go bowling with a 6-6 record. That's what rational people expected.

I wonder if any of the Vandy message boards mention the fact that there is currently a Living Social deal for $17 tickets to the Wake Forest game? Sad state of affairs. The on field product is decent and you still cannot get that stadium filled in an MSA with 1.5 million people. More people drive to Knoxville on a game day than will drive down the street to attend a Vandy game. Who owns the state?
