Were all 15 fans in attendance shouting that "Beat UT" chant? Did they start a wave following it? Maybe sing Sweet Caroline? Hope that beach ball didn't blow to far to the left and out of reach.
How anyone can doubt this team after what has happened previously is beyond comprehension.
VU 34. Ucheat 17.
Once things start going in VU's favor it never stops. You should know this by now.
also, ive given up on recruiting rankings.. if you have a good qb you will win
If he doesn't switch to WR, he's not going to play a whole season anywhere
I'll be there - Dore Walk East!
Also... if ACS, Matthews, Krause, Seymour and Tate all contribute, I REALLY think we will win.
These guys between them blow away UT in terms of talent at skilled positions.
I'm saying that anyone basing any prediction for this year game's on last year's performance is complete error.
It is a very debatable point who is "better" UT beat a USC team that throttled us by 28 in the first quarter. UT went toe to toe with a UGA team that beat LSU. While we beat a team appearing to be UGA, it was not the same UGA team that was in Knoxville. The UF game is the same, though I think we appeared the better team.
UT also played Missouri tougher than Vandy, though that is damning with faint praise.
Clearly Vandy has benefited from the schedule, which has killed UT. The bye week is a good equalizer giving them the advantage of extra prep and rest. It would have been nice to catch them last week after a brutal stretch.
I think you'll see inspired play from both teams, and anything less would be a complete surprise. We have just as much to prove as they do, so at the end of the day, motivations do not point you in either direction.
So how does each team play it? I think we can be more flexible due to the QB situations. ACS and Mathews give us something that makes it very difficult for them to just cram the box all day and not account for. If they do, sooner or later those two will make some plays and beat them. Seymour is going to get some tough yards and grind out some plays, but, as noted, having Kimbrow get wide a couple of times would be a bonus, just don't turn it over.
On the other side we absolutely have to stop the run option. The DE's must be aware and make plays, while the DT and MLB make it tough. Though the strategy of playing man is risky, I do like the thought of Dobbs trying to beat Hal, Ladler, & Co through the air. We've been on a roll creating turnovers, and that's the key to the game.
Awwww how cute! They beat us twice in 20 something years and we are their little brother??? Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.
Their problem is that most of them weren't even fans before last year. They have no knowledge of the history of this match-up. They just know that they won last year, so therefore they're better.
I saw a video of an old Vandy fan crying after they beat us last year. I can respect that man...he's surely seen it all. But, these Frankophiles are clueless.
Frankophiles, lol. Props. And yes, majority of them don't know squat about the series. Doesn't matter though. No more than 3 years from now they'll all be rooting for a different team or have learned their place.
I've never seen it but I have to watch it now soley because of that one scene. It was pretty clever, wasn't it? There's this scene in Django Unchained that I think sums up Vandy's fanbase pretty well. The butler tells christoph waltz that Dicaprio is "a bit of a Fracophile", to which he responds "what civilized man isn't these days?". That's Vandy to a T (pun intended), just switch the "c" out for a "k", and I see them having that exact conversation with each other.
Hey guys, I talked to a Vandy fan today and he told (snicker) me (snort).......
I can't do it. In all of my life living in the great state of Tennessee, I have never met a Vandy fan.
True story.

Oh gotcha. He didn't reference the Sewanee post so I didn't understand.
Someone explain to me how they were more impressive than Neyland's teams who went 2 seasons without being scored on.
