Really? Don't see how being a bandwagon fan should move the needle one way or the other? People who struggle with their emotions, usually struggle mightily with their football perspective. Take another look, common sense is pretty much where you find it.
I had this debate with a Texas fan at work yesterday. A Sooners fan friend of mine butted in and reminded him that without Davy Crockett and Tennesseans there would'nt even be a Texas.Oh, and outside the SEC, I have to agree with whoever said Texas. Texans in general can be pretty obnoxious, but TX fans are like that on steroids. And it is really annoying to hear them try to claim they are UT when they were founded about a 100 years after us.
Indiana fans. Used to make the trip to Bloomington when the two played. They only showed up 15,000 fans, but they were all the hardcore obnoxious kind. We were supposed to play them in Sept 16, 2001 but it was postponed due to 9/11. Went up there in December for the makeup game, and fights broke out everywhere, on the field, and in the stands. At the end of the game, players were taking off helmets and beating each other with them. Indiana won, but both teams sucked that year. I think they won a combined 5 games between the two teams. But you'd think that Indiana had won the crystal football. We got cussed and taunted all the way to the car. A-holes.
Never going back, that is for sure.
I've never really had any problem with UT fans and I'm at at least 1 UT/UK event per year in Knoxville...
Even at the Tin Roof or other joints down the strip - I'm decked out in blue and only been in 1 fight.
Seems like a lot of other fans have had problems with them. I had a semi bad experience with a handful of UGA fans, but other than that, they were actually pretty hospitable.
