I'd rather be Uk than fall from grace the way UT did. I went through the Billy G years and let me tell you, one of a fans worst feelings is when you get used to success and it leaves for a while. Those times are the worst imo. Even last year, missing the tourney, it was hard. Sucks to be a great school going through some hard times (even just 1 year).

Texas fans are alright. So long as you don't go off trying to prove who "the real UT" is.

Ironically, many Texas students I know don't give a darn about how the football team does. They're a little eccentric and care more about the local indie music scene than the football team. Smart academic kids. It's the t-shirt morons I can't stand. For having as many national championships as we do since the 1970 season despite an easier conference and a central location in America's best high school football state, they sure are cocky.

Hopefully, SDV will forgive me for coining a metaphor on his behalf, but I believe that the implicit meaning of his statement was that the collective mood of the Big Orange Nation was that they were, in essence, attending a funeral. Tennessee fans were not going to give Wyoming fans a hard time because of the subdued atmosphere.

Incidentally, what part of Wyoming do you reside in? I have been to Wyoming many times and love it almost as much as Montana. Whether you are talking about the Snowy Range, the Bighorns, Wind River range or the Tetons, there is a lot of gorgeous country in Wyoming.

By the way, just how windy is Laramie in the fall typically? Since your punter is transferring to UT, we are speculating on just how well his statistical performance will "translate" to the much lower and more humid conditions in Knoxville.

Couldn't possibly disagree more. I would NEVER be willing to give back UT's NC to avoid this period of wandering in the desert we are currently going through right now.

Yeah, I see your point. It feels terrible when a great program like UT football/Uk basketball goes through tough times. But I guess it's worth it if you have championships to remember.
