Usually I just enjoy reading the posts, every blue moon I decide - ah, I'll add something.
1. The facilities are great, and getting better.
2. In 05 we had a losing season, and we did not go bowling on New Years of 06.
3. Our pipeline to the NFL varies from season to season.
Now this perplexes me, you begin talking about the advantages at UT. Then you change in the middle of your summation to a negative point of view?
Where is the lack of intensity you are speaking upon?
I havent seen or or remotely heard of a lack by the coaches.
1. They played 14 long games this season.
2. Fulmer announced his plan after the bowl and followed it up as he stated. The media was there.
When he was not interveiwing, he was building his list of prospects.
3. The other board mentors explained there is NO TEXT Messaging Recruits. Period. It ended last season. If it is happenening, you better not get caught. I dont see a coach at UT text messaging in a direct violation of a new mandated NCAA rule.
a.) As they mentioned, there is a dead period in recruiting. A coach can make one call per week to a player. Thats it, and it is logged for reference to be examined.
b.) Fulmer is an ambassador for the school, whether you or anyone else likes it. Pat routinely visits the football games, as does the Pearlish one. It is called a support system. They back each other and show suport to each other. They attend several annual functions together each year along with the other UT Coaches.
c.) Chavis has been on the road recruiting, do you not read any papers, or occassionally run the net? Nearly every newspaper in Tennessee has an online site.
d.) There is no lack of intensity that I have seen, that was Fulmer up in the stands after beating Wisconsin dancing and high fiving with fans. They had to go retreive him.
There is one point I would like to add, we over signed last year, and many have forgotten that fact. It either comes this year to get it back, or it bites us hard next season -- being 09 class.
There are issues, but these are not among them. We need players and we need depth in some key areas.
Graduating 4/5th of the offensive staff is what hurt us if anything has. It is kinda simple, not a lot to it really.
